PC Gaming is OFFICIALLY dead

This troll thread made it to 5 pages and looks to continue? CD, I am disappointed.

Come on now, enjoy the drama!

To contribute something, big publishers leaving the PC platform might actually do some good. It would leave the field open for small developers to make games that aren't all about mainstream approach, but innovative and challenging.

star craft 2, WoW (which i personally HATE), the STALKER games which are currently the best fps games out there right now. indie games that you will never see on a console like amnesia which is by far the scariest game i have ever played. i literally cant play for more than 20-30 minutes before i get so tense i have to take a break. mount and blade warband which is the most fun ive ever had in a sandbox game and the combat is a blast. multiplayer is also amazing as well.

there are just some things that will never work well on a console.....mainly FPS games and RTS and MMO games. these will always be PC first because they have tried to make them work on consoles and you end up gimping the game with massive aim assist and slower reacting npcs (for FPS games) and reduced numbers of controls and options for RTS and MMO games.

the only games i prefer playing on a console are racing games and platform games which i never play anymore anyways. i was going to get a PS3 but since GT5 apparently looks like crap (thank you consoles for ruining yet another game i used to love) im just going to get a new 580gt card instead.

http://www.gtpla.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/Autodromo-Nazionale-Monza_Maserati_GranTurismo-S.jpg It looks amazing. So do games like Uncharted and ass creed II. There are currently MMO's in developement (and some at the BETA stage, DC Universe online for example) for consoles. FFXIV Is an MMO due for release on the PS3 (maybe 360 too, havent checked if that was confirmed) in march. If you have a backwards compatable PS3 you can run FFXI too. Then theres games like MAG, which prove the PS3 is capable of running games with good graphics and high amounts of players (240~+ On one map?) With extremely rare cases of lag. Personally, I cant stand playing FPS's on the PC. Sure, PC gamers harp on about its supposed superiority. But I'm far more comfortable with and perform better with a controler over a keyboard and mouse. I also believe it was confirmed that the Crysis engine was being adapted to conoles too? Or was that just a rumour.

But I'll give you the RTS thing, they do svck on consoles.

But I defy any one who say that consoles dumb down their games. Consoles provide the huge budgets needed for these games to exist.

SNIP

While I do agree that PC OS's do have more software bugs, I would argue that they have less hardware issues. I have never had my PC overheat and have to send it in for repairs or buy a new one.

I stopped reading there.

You are right, I am wrong.

Have a nice day!

congrats!
You won a argument/disagreement/topic on the internet.

It's not really fair to get into an argument on the Internet and then trivialize it just because you lost.

Everything I've heard about GT5 is that the graphics were good, but not as amazingly realistic good that they were hyped up to be. I have no opinion on the matter, because I hate the series. There have been a few MMORPGs in the past for consoles, they generally don't fare as well. WoW, for example, wouldn't work on the consoles without a mouse/keyboard because of the way the skills are handled. FFXIV svcks too, so that's not going to help it at all. As for Crysis, the only news I could find about it on the consoles says that they can't handle it (but that is an article from http://www.joystiq.com/2006/08/30/crytek-says-360-and-ps3-cant-handle-crysis/).

Really, the console vs PC debate is all about preference. I prefer FPS games on the PC, because I've spent more time with them and am more adept at using the keyboard and mouse vs the controller. I think it offers a much more accurate way to aim with a mouse than with a control stick. It's all preference though, and someone who has always played on consoles would have a different opinion.
