Does anyone know if mod "Rude Awakening"

Post » Sat Jan 22, 2011 2:24 am

The mod is supposed to make it possible for your sleep to be interrupted in the wasteland by creature encounters.....

I've been playing pretty much two days (real time - home sick) and haven't had an encounter yet..... but I don't really know what chance there is.... maybe it just hasn't kicked in

Anyone used this mod and had it work?

Yeah, I have. Worked just like it said it would for me.

Just make sure the place you're sleeping in isn't in a separate cell, I guess.

Yeah, I have used it for some time, and it definitely spices up sleeping outdoors.
One thing to be careful of though, is that if you sleep in Megaton (I sometimes camped outside Moira's) then if you get attacked the bodies do not seem to disappear!
In my current game the place has several corpses and a Mirelurk littering the walkway up to her shop.

Maybe I have it installed wrong.

I installed both Rude Awakening.esp and Rude AwakeningMMM.esp - am I to use just one?

So far I haven't been ambushed ONCE and I have it at the bottom of my load order and I sleep outside all the time due to the primary needs mod I'm using.

???

Does anyone have MMM installed with this and has it working? I still haven't gotten this to work (3-18) and I have it at the bottom of the load order and tried checking first just one, then the other, then both - each time I slept outside for 3-5 days in 7 hour increments and nothing.

Ergh.

It works. I had a house that wasn't in a separate cell, so that got kind of annoying. It was a boat, and I'd just get woken up by raiders swimming around.

Good mod, though.

Do you have MMM installed? If so, do you use both .esps or just one?

I have no idea why this isn't working for me...

Yeah, I have MMM installed. There are plenty of .esps, not sure what you're talking about.

Make sure you're in the Wasteland and not in a building. You won't get woken up every single time you sleep, anyway.

Rude Awakening has two files. One is Rude_Awakening.esp and the other is titled Rude_AwakeningMMMpatch.esp

There is no readme - so I wasn't sure if I needed both..

Oh. I'm pretty sure you activate both if you have MMM, make sure the MMM one is lower in your load order.

There may be no readme, but there is a link to the http://www.gamesas.com/?showtopic=1034826 on the FO3Nexus page. The first post of that thread contains the following:
:lightbulb: INSTALLATION:

Rude Awakening - MMM.esp must be below Rude Awakening.esp in your load order.

So yes, you use both, in the stated order.

Then I have no idea why it isn't working - because I have it in the correct order and last in my load order. Hrm.

OK, this is going to sound really stupid, but I can't think of anything else..... are the ESPs actually activated in your load order? I mean, are their checkboxes checked so that the game knows to load them?
