For Christmas this year I got a significant number of DVD's, some of which come with a digital copy, other which do not. I want to start a movie collection on my computer, but I'm not sure exactly how to get the movies without a digital copy onto my harddrive. Some sources say that it is legal, since it is just for personal use, but other sources say it is illegal, so if it is illegal the mods can lock this.

Anyway, what programs do you guys recommend for this? I've done some googling, but most of the results are very sketchy, to say the least. So far Handbrake seems like the number one option, but I'm not sure of its credibility.

As far as I am aware it is illegal to do so. Sorry, no further discussion on this.
