Brink, defenate pre order?

Post » Sun Jan 23, 2011 12:59 pm

I don't get the mentality of people that won't play both sides. I've seen a bunch of people already committing themselves to one faction, one class, one body type, and one type of gun. If they want to sell themselves short, so be it, I guess.

Indeed. But, I know what I'm going to try first and that's what you can read in my sig ^^

I'll try light as well. If push comes to shove, i'll be the heavy tank with a mini gun.........

I assume that that's what most people mean when they have it listed in their sigs; that that's where they're going to start with. I'm more referring to people who say things like "that won't work for me, because I play Security," or " I'm only playing light, so I'll only use SMGs."

It's not that I really care or that it bothers me; I just don't understand it. Millions of combinations to create, and people are basically cutting out most of their options before the game has even been released.

People have a different play style that they like on certain titles so they think that is how they'll play Brink. For example, I use hit and run tactics so I'll try light first. If I die to fast, I'll try medium ........

I think the majority of us on the forum atleast will try more than 20% of all the content in the game :P I for one plan to level up 12 characters (all bodytype and class specializations)

I'll try each body class in single player. The one I like most will be my main guy. I'll level him up and try all sorts of guns and abilities.....extra xp goes to my back up class.......

This is the way I look at it. You have sixteen slots. That's enough for a combination of every class and weight- pre-made and ready to go- plus 4 extra slots, which means you could double up on a combo and just have a different ability and gun load-out ready to rock.

I'm sure I'll have my favorites and specialties as well, but for the amount that I spend on videogames, it would make no sense for me not to take full advantage of everything each one has to offer.

I don't think that's especially surprising. Even though it sounds spectacular on paper, there's a reasonable fear for some people that it could turn out to play like an incoherent mess.

Not surprising, It looks great, but there's no way to tell unless you play it. I'm taking a $60 chance on it being as good as it looks. It could be [censored]!

You know somehow it'll be slightly below standards. Like people not using teamwork or the parkour is very limited.......

I did. But then the Duke Nukem Balls of Steel edition was announced and pre-ordered that [censored] fast. I may re-pre-order when pre-order bonuses are announced.

(I also have returned to find the forums in a bad state, makes me sad face)

I'm just about to purchase my first console in years (last one was an SNES... really!) and haven't been really all that excited about any game release in quite a few years, but seriously, when was the last time you've seen a game demo released before the actual game itself is on the shelves?

I'm not talking about betas here, because those are NOT supposed to be demos, I'm talking about a real demo meant to showcase the actual finished game. Usually, developers and publishers are in way too much of a hurry to release a game to fork resources towards development of a demo and delay the game further...

So, when was the last time you ever saw a pre-release demo be showcased?
