Favourite Companion

Post » Tue Jan 25, 2011 4:58 am

So this is probably a topic you hoped you'd never see again but I JUST JOINED, HOKAY?? Besides, opinions might have changed since the last one.

Who's your favourite follower? I don't mean the BEST one because Fawkes is hands down the King of Following. I mean do you go out of your way to accomodate a certain companion? I've done it for all of them -the only one I've not had is Sarge.
Jericho - My 'PURE EVIL' save.
Star Paladin Cross - 'SUPER JESUS STYLE' save.
Clover - I thought it would be cool to have two women in Pre War Spring Outfits with Sawed Offs. XDDDD
Dogmeat - I don't use Dogmeat. Call me oversensitive, but I ahhh... I pick him up and tell him to 'stay' at my house. I draw the line at giving him a ball and a doggy dish. Honest. *cough*
Charon - .... Don't get me started. Me and Charon, like THAT, man. Every game I've played I've ended up with Charon + T51b = Epic Win. I'm also kind of obsessed.. It's because there's something of the pathetic about him, it makes me want to redeem him. XD
Fawkes - Me and Fawkes go back, but not wayy back. I don't like sacking Charon. XD

You get the general idea. Most of the time, even if I haven't got T51b and it's more hassle than anything I'll take Charon, even if I have to kill Greta for him.

Oh and for bonus points, wave if you're female. I hate not knowing what the m/f balance is like on forums. XD

PS! I'm sorry if this would be better suited to 'General Chat'. Ime, those tend to be a bit random and off topic so yeah my bad. ^^"

Clover is the only companion I've had for an extended period of time but I think Sergeant RL-3 is the one I enjoyed traveling with the most. As a companion he wasn't very helpful but I found him very funny.

In most games I avoid AI controlled companions. I only dabbled with them in FO as well.

The only companion I ever get is Dogmeat. I do not like having any other companion with me. I once went out my way to get Sergeant RL-3, but I just ended up living him. And ever since I have gotten Broken Steel, my Dogmeat has been unable to die. I fired the MIRV at him and all it did was piss him off. So now I just let Dogmeat do all the fighting, in fact he took down a behemoth all by himself...

...Epic.

Favorite Companions:

Fallout: Dogmeat and Tycho
Fallout 2: Dogmeat, Marcus and Cassidy.
Fallout 3: I don't have one, they are not smart enough, bullet sponges. To me Fawkes is the worst.
Fallout Tactics Team: Farsight, Stitch, Stevie, Stein and Kevin. I do my best to keep them alive the most.

Butch is one of the neutral karma hires. In FO3 there are two good companions (Fawkes and Cross), two neutral companions (RL-3 and Butch), two eveil companions (Clover and Jericho), and two without karma requirements (Charon and Dogmeat).

Fallout 1, usually Dogmeat. RIP, ya pup.

Fallout 2, John Cassidy is one badass sonofagun to have around, not to mention old and very respectful. K-9 comes in second. A talking dog!

Fallout 3, RL-3, namely because of the ending with Broken Steel, or the fact he basically a mule with a Flamethrower, or the fact I did not like the other opinion that was given. Not in much depth, I suppose.

Dogmeat is immortal. Seriously, that dog is in every fallout game. I had Ian, I got to a part where I knew he would not make it. I tried to tell him to get lost but, he still stayed around to get charred to a crisp. He seems like Jericho for some reason.

I play Fallout and Fallout 3 the most. I tried playing Fallout 2 and such but, I think being made to use a spear threw me off some. Especially, when I treated it like all the other games and picked things like small arms and such just to find out. I only have melee weapons and I can't fight worth anything.

Fallout 1: Tycho and Dogmeat
Fallout 2: Cassidy and Sulik (Sulik rocks!!)
Fallout 3: Clover, but usually none.
Fallout Tactics: Farsight and Ice (my favorites), Stitch, Mandy, and Stevie. We're an infiltrator/sniper team. Stitch has the Heavy Weapons covered.

re: Noooo, Sulik hits rocks together.

Sulik asked me to give you a message: "We be good with fists, spear, big hammer or sub-machine gun. We be a handful". :stare:

Don't worry. I'll calm him down.

It's kind of annoying now that I'm a good character this playthrough that you can get Jericho (evil) right out the vault but Cross isn't available until after the Waters of Life and Fawkes isn't an option until after The American Dream. Makes it harder to get companions as a Good character. You could get Charon, but he's damn expensive unless you do something evil.

It's a tough decision, but after thinking about it, I'd have to go with Charon. I keep it no secret that I'm not a huge fan of ghouls, but Charon is... different. He doesn't care that he looks like a corpse and is just a genuine badass. He never judges me and really, he isn't as robotic as everyone thinks (listen to some of his dialogue). Some of our battles are legendary. R.I.P.

Jericho's up there, too, simply because the guy never fails to make me laugh, and when my 'evil' (I use that word loosely) character came into Megaton, he welcomed me with open arms, and even tried to help me screw over Moriarty -- a guy I sincerely hate. Oh, and not to mention he's pretty good with any weapon.

Butch's pretty cool, too. Sure, he's a bit of a clown, but he is, in a way, a childhood friend and some of the things he says split my sides. I just get the feeling that he's not really into fighting, though, no matter how he acts.

And how could I forget Dogmeat? Loyal, smart and cute -- nothing else needs to be said.

Fawkes is all right, but he is too emotional and kind of depresses me, and let's not forge that he is a demi-god, which takes away any possible challenge from the game.

At the bottom of the list is Star Paladin Cross. Yeah, yeah, she can fight a little... but has there ever been someone so boring! Really, the only time she wants to say anything to me is when she feels like judging me, assuming what Dad would have thought about what I do, and when she wants to caution. Yawn.

Fallout 1: Tycho because he's awesome and wears a gas mask and a trench coat.
Fallout 2: I like both Cassidy and Sulik. If I had to pick, I'd choose Cassidy because of his battle dialogue.
Fallout 3: Charon because he doesn't speak much.
