Crimson's Universe

This has grown to a certain size now and I think the reorganised layout will make it easier for people to follow along.
Request: Please let me know of any compatibility or redundancy issues as well as any suggestions you might have.

Note: A few words about Armamentarium and T.I.E.. As things stand, they're not really compatible - once because the stuff Armamentarium adds to the leveled lists kind of defeats the purpose of T.I.E.'s "scarcity" and, secondly, because the weapons and armours themselves aren't balanced. Ideally, a patch would have to be made to fix this issue.

Light, Weather and Nature:

  • http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=18677 - I wouldn't install the "weather" replacers because those are probably handled by All Natural anyway

  • http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=22653 - partially incompatible with RGO (see Note on mod's page)

Note:
  • SM Regional Bounty works with Looting Dead Guards is Stealing and with Crime has Witnesses so you can use all three instead of RGO.
  • SM Security and Lockbash can be used as an alternative to Lock Bash Omega and Zumbs Lockpicking Mod (OBSE). It allows the bashing of door locks (as opposed to LBO).

Note: If you choose to allow your attributes to go over 100 all you really need is -Elys- Uncapper. However, that adds skill bonuses just for the combat ones. Legendary Abilities covers the rest of them, except for Personality and Alchemy. For those use Persuasion Overhaul and Grandmaster of Alchemy.

My two cents:
[For light to hold my spirit in the darkness I have chosen http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=19628 [/font], either http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=11434 or http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=20053http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=20053, though I'm worried if the crystal globe that is my 8600GTS wouldn't shatter upon beholding the latter.

I think you mean "RAEVWD (don't forget the http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=24701 and either AWLS or Cities alive at night", because AWLS and Cities look like they would conflict. I don't use either myself, but AWLS looks like the better choice.

A couple of other impressions from great minds:

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=16282, http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=9333, http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=11169 and http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=11478, http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=10803, http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=21424, http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=23901, http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2037 with http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=3979, http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=23366 along with http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=25536 and http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=25449. http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=25835, http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=19847, http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=11474, http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=25040, http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=25204 and http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=21966.
Don't use Denock Arrow. I'll get to why in a sec. Also, don't forget http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=10803.

To choose a race on being cast onto the world should mean more than the colour of skin and the shape of the body. That is why I lean somewhere between the http://theelderscrolls.info/?go=dlfile&fileid=215 and http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=26216 . I'm reluctant about using the former because it's balanced around its own Birthsigns (which I don't plan on using), and it makes several changes to Magicka (for which I'd rather use another mod as well). Besides that, I would like the cosmetic changes and the other elements.
Go with TRAP, and then get http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=21104. Among other great features, it includes plugins that alters the appearance of most NPCs, and has an arrow denock feature.

For Birthsigns, I'll go for either http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=12149 or http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=29917.
I'd go with Expanded right now. IMO, Applers shows great promise, but is a little buggy right now.

Now, skill progression. I'm definitely using http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=14304. (But I'm not sure if I want to go with my skills and attributes above 100. Thoughts on that?)

Concerning leveling mods, there's http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=14065 which I've used in the past with gratifying results, but there's also http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=13879 if I decide to swap.
I thought you needed http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=13841 you your skills/attributes to go over 100? Anyway, nGCD/Progess seems to be the way to go. I use http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=15619 myself, and am looking at http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=23322, but that doesn't look like what you want.

I almost forgot magic mods. There's http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=25776 which is the least game changing of them all. It would go nicely with http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=25616 and http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=11237 . The alternative number one is called http://theelderscrolls.info/?go=dlfile&fileid=219 and the second one is http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=12466. Still haven't decided on these to be honest.
You can use both Supreme Magicka and LAME at the same time. You just need to decide which one you want to "win" over the other, and make sure that one loads last. I recmmend you use both, if you only want to use one, I'd go with LAME. There's also http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=25844 to consider instead of/in addition to Fizzle.

Interface wise, I'm going for http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=11280 probably. The http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=6795 fits in nicely, http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=17451 , http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=22163 , http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2487 (though I think they're light coloured and the map mod might change them already) and http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=8958 to brighten up those long nights and quiet hours of breaking dawn. http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=29283 would make a nice addition, maybe not the most immersive of mods, but I think I'll give myself a pass on this one. I shall need to leave marks behind as I stray from the roads and the cities. http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=26389 should allow me to. We all know that time is relative, and as such http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=27352 will come in handy. This http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=3779 is my favourite map mod.
Use Map Marker Overhaul instead of any map marker-changing mods. It includes most of the best ones.

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=15245 ? used in the past but I'm wondering if it's still the best choice for adding detail without a performance hit.
http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=18677 works pretty well. I use it along with RAEVWD, http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=15278 and http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=8773, and get a nice view with little or no fps hit.

Performance wise, I'm thinking http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=22410, Operation Optimization and Streamline can both be found http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=22170
Make sure you use Fast Exit 2, not 1, and while I agree with BadCompany on Operation Optimization, if you do use it, be sure to install it before anything else.

Other mods to consider:
Timeslip's excelent http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=7327.
http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=22819.
The Unofficial patches: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=5296 and http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=27710, http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=10739, and http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=9969

Thank you!

Thank you for the detailed input! It's greatly appreciated!

AWLS only changes the lights within the cities. They actually recommend RAEVWD so people would have the LOD lit up as well. Cities Alive changes just the LOD as well, so I believe either of them would work.

Don't use Denock Arrow. I'll get to why in a sec. Also, don't forget http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=10803.

Got the update, cheers!

I shall take a look at the cosmetic part of COBL. I do have to install it anyway because there are several mods in my list that require it so this will work nicely.

I'd go with Expanded right now. IMO, Applers shows great promise, but is a little buggy right now.

I thought you needed http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=13841 you your skills/attributes to go over 100? Anyway, nGCD/Progess seems to be the way to go. It's still in Beta (Appler's), but I haven't seen any big bugs being reported in the thread. Do you have something specific in mind?

Yeah, I would need some sort of mod to go over 100. I was just wondering if I should bother with that though.

Hmm, I might go with both if that's the case. Cheers for clearing that up. And I didn't know about Audacious Magery! It looks really interesting!

I'll give those a gander! I heard of the Depth of Field mod though I never got around to using it. That might change this time around.

Other mods to consider:
Timeslip's excelent http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=7327.
http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=22819.

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=13536

Yeah, I forgot to mention the patches. They're essential after all.
Let There Be Darkness is a must have if All Natural doesn't deal with that issue. I didn't mention it because I wanted to make sure first (it does have Real Lights after all).

About the Quest Award Leveler - I'm confused as to the version I should use. There is the one you linked, but that doesn't seem to add Shivering Isles support and there is a http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=10079 one, but I don't think it covers Battlehorn. Finally, there's one abo packed into an OMOD http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=12801. Your guess is as good as mine.

Cheers and, please, keep them coming!

It's still in Beta (Appler's), but I haven't seen any big bugs being reported in the thread. Do you have something specific in mind?
Turns out, no, I just had it in the wrong spot in my load order. Give both a try. Expanded's are a little over/underpowered, while Appler's a radically different from vanilla.

Yeah, I would need some sort of mod to go over 100. I was just wondering if I should bother with that though.

Might as well. nGCD's description on TESNexus mentions that getting anything to 100 is difficult, so if you're able to raise a skill/attribute above 100, might as well go for it, right?

Yeah, I forgot to mention the patches. They're essential after all.

I figured as much, but wanted to mention them if somebody wanted to use this thread as a recommended mod list.

The one I linked is the most up to date one, and covers all leveled items in Oblivion, SI, and all the DLC.

Also, I just remembered one more mod you might like: http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=OblivionMods.Detail&id=435. Makes Ayleid Wells provide a (much smaller) permanent fortify magicka.

Note: I have edited the first post to reflect the changes thus far.

Might as well. nGCD's description on TESNexus mentions that getting anything to 100 is difficult, so if you're able to raise a skill/attribute above 100, might as well go for it, right?

I'll look into the whole attribute thing. There's the uncapper, but there's also at least one other mod that's required - Legendary Attributes or something like that.

I figured as much, but wanted to mention them if somebody wanted to use this thread as a recommended mod list.

Point taken :) Thanks!

Also, I just remembered one more mod you might like: http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=OblivionMods.Detail&id=435. Makes Ayleid Wells provide a (much smaller) permanent fortify magicka.

I must give this one more thought. At the moment it seems kind of overpowered to me. I appreciate you sharing it though!

Cheers!

Colors are hard to read. The style obscures your questions. Below is my last load order, which would seem to fit a lot of what you are asking about. It is built around FCOM, nGCD and Progress. It has several of the weather mods you mention, etc. Keep in mind, this was before the recent update to FCOM and MMM, so some details differ. Cheers.

The only things Elys uncapper needs are obse and some kind of leveling mod thats compatible, both of which you have.
EDIT: I'd install it even if you don't set you max skill/attributes over 100, as it will allow fortify effects to function properly over 100.
EDIT2: Wait, you mean http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=19245? That just adds skill perks over skill level 100, and isn't required.

Thank you for the list! It does have quite a few of the mods I mentioned.

I'll change the colour to make it easier to read. You do have a point about that. As for the style, well... it's pretty! I know it's not the common "mod list", but it was never meant to be.

And questions - there are just two big question really - are those mods compatible with each other and what other mods would go nicely with them?

The only things Elys uncapper needs are obse and some kind of leveling mod thats compatible, both of which you have.

Yeah, that's the one!

Elys' mod only adds bonuses for the combat skills, the rest of them aren't any use above 100. Yeah, you can go higher, but there's no bonus for it. Legenday Abilities covers the rest of the skills so all of them work. http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=16441 is the recommended one for this skill, and Persuasion Overhaul is suggested for that one.

Reading through the descriptions though, they do feel kind of too powerful so I'm not sure anymore.

Cheers guys!

Legendary mastery enables a few skills to actually take advantage of attributes above 100.

some things happen naturally, like a higher strength allowing you to carry more, damage is capped at 100 though, I don't remember if legendary mastery addresses that. The attribute based damage... should take care of that though.

Hey!

Thanks for the info HeyYou!

Added Enchantment Enhanced, Never Die and the Above 100 section. Removed compatibility question Alternatives to Death and Reload and Vector - they should work fine together.

Please let me know if you have any ideas on making this more... usable.
I know there are tens of lists made already and kicking another off the ground may be largely pointless. However, I started it to check on the compatibility between the lot of them so I wouldn't have the game explode after I finish installing everything. And after taking that much time writing it and collecting all the links, I said - hey, this might come in handy to someone!

Anyways, if you think I should add descriptions to the mods? Other tips?

Thanks!

Just a heads up, You seem to be missing the Unique Landscapes compatiblity patches for using some of them along with Kragenir's Death Quest (Lost Coast, Cloudtop Mountains and Rolling Hills). :)
