Sound [censored]

I have to disagree on the validity of being able to buy something, anything, that gives a substantial advantage over players that don't have the thing. Could just be because I don't have a headset myself, though, and thus have never had the chance to try it personally. :frog:

Unfortunately, this is true of every multplayer games and will remain so forever. A better PC means better FPS means better overall performance. When playing a first person shooter, better resolution means it becomes easier to aim, especially at long range...

Or just imagine playing on console using an old 480i TV with stereo sounds, vs someone playing in 1080p or 720p and dolby surround sound...

An unfair advantage? Yeah, I guess. If you can't live with it, stick to single player games I guess... :\

I have a TV...from like the early 90's. And no headset. And a connection that is mediocre at best. Yeah, I've been at a huge disadvantage from the beginning. Still managed to do quite well though, which I suppose is a testament to my incredible skills. :disguise:

Trust me, you hear someone just around you and you look around and see him but he doesn't know you're there.............

It works pretty much like recognising the presence of a player in Modern Warfare 2 because he uses The Scrambler perk.

I guess if you have a proper 5.1 headset (no virtual 5.1 sound with a 2.1 headset) you can actually locate players very accurate. But with a 2.1 headset (and virtual 5.1) it's easy to recognise if a player is to your left, right, front or back.

Sadly, your console does only use 720p and emulates 1080p. :P

I have a television.

Which is technically better than a plasma or LCD screen, still. :D
Especially colour-wise a CRT is much more natural.

I use Ninja pro in blackops to soundwhor like crazy. I can usually tell the general area where the sound is coming from but with all the buildings in the way you have to look around some.....
