Not being an Operator?

Post » Fri Jan 28, 2011 5:00 pm

Are any of you forgetting that you can create up to 16 characters, and doing so (creating multiple characters) is encouraged by the devs (it's a big reason why the lvl cap is low)?

I plan on using a lot more than just 1 character, and I'm sure 1 of them will be focused on Operative abilities.

I guess I'll be mainly playing a class focused on universal abilities, with perhaps some extras for medic/engi, just because I have a feeling that this will be the "best" combination to constantly switch classes. Don't know if it will work out the way I want it to :P

I don't think Operative will be that used, namely because you'd need to be stealthy, meaning you'd have to be near pro at using the parkour aspects of the game and hope you don't get gunned down.

Also i have a question, is the Silent running ability an operative only perk? or is it universal? (Please please please be universal!)

Think it's universal.

Oh, and btw, taking out disguised guys/playing dead guys will be pretty easy when you're facing only a half-decent operative. I could pretty much detect ALL disguised enemies in W:ET and ET:QW, just by looking at their behaviour. In this game you have to take the bodytype into account as well, making it easier for me.

So, beware Wraith-wannabes :D

it wont be my top choice. obviously i will have a character of each body type for each class, so light, medium, heavy medic, etc. i think that the operative might be the have fun class with the sticky bombs and disguises. but idk about it being a good competitive choice, just for the fact that the disguise will be useless against a good team that communicates, "hey is that you coming from their side of the map?" " Nope" "Oh (shoots) Nice callout" lol. mainly ill be playing soldier or engineer. one thing i think the operative is good for is that it has the ability to buff a teammates sprint speed, so u can make ur teammates faster. i saw it in the 3 part container city video way back when

It's a medic Buff iirc. They changed it or something. Don't know for sure though.

so a medic gets to boost the health and speed of teammates, seems a bit OP, but with the energy bar it may not be. wouldnt make since to give the medic 2 buff abilities when the operative has none.

Anyone know if a "fluff" post is ok. Thinking about it helped me choose a faction and I think i may help others on the fence. So, Are "Fluff" posts ok?

The medics main focus is still to interact with teammates, while the operative is the only class that can interact with enemy players directly.

You can only have 3 active abilities at all times and they will still drain your pips.

Already threads on this. Play both neither is better than the other. Pointless threads are not.

Contrary to the sig, I'm an Engineer/Soldier guy. Operative actually appeals to me the least of all the classes, although I will certainly spend a fair amount of time being one. But I'm not a fan of stealth, really. Even in the 007 games I always preferred to mow everyone down instead of sneaking past them. Same with Assassin's Creed. I love picking fights. :disguise:

Which is why when I am an Operative I will probably forgo the lone wolf stuff and try to be as supportive as possible, even if I can't toss things to my teammates. :spotted owl:
