enchantment glow problem

Post » Sat Feb 05, 2011 3:10 am

I've spent hours on google trying to figure it out, and I haven't found anything. Whenever a charactor is effected by magic, their hair, eyes, mouth, weapon, shield, etc turn white. I'm pretty sure its a problem with the glow texture but I have no idea what to do about it.

Are they staying white, because an enchantment on armor does this normally, but the effect is temporary - an item with a permanent damage or drain effect causes the player to have a red glow, and on a PC this can be changed with mods.

sometimes it goes away when i enter a new area, or just wait awhile. I dont get any glow colours other than white, and its less of a glow and more like the object was painted white. I'm pretty sure i'm missing the glow texture or something, but I've tried reinstalling the game and its still a problem

Is your game patched to version 1.2.0416? The GOTY edition is patched when both discs have been installed.

its patched, and I've tried the unofficial oblivion patch and a mod to remove the persistent enchantment effect. If anyone knows of a mod to completly remove the enchantment effect that would be great

Afters days of hunting I accidentally stumbled upon the no-glo for oblivion mod by grumblepunk, it seems to be doing the trick. I may not get the cool effects, but since I wasn't getting them anyway it doesn't bother me
