Midwestern Fall

Post » Mon Feb 07, 2011 2:12 am

Idea:

In my Fan-Fiction the Incovenient Truth, the Midwest is in a state of utter anarchy. The Midwestern BOS is divided between mutant and tribal armies clashing against Brotherhood Purists. My idea is to create an ongoing RP that follows the storyline of my Fan-Fic, and as people make decisions in this RP, they effect the storyline of it. What happens in this RP transpires into the Fan-Fic.

Setting:

2279, September 7th, Midwest Region aka "The Core Region"

You are a citizen of this lonely cesspit. It's been two years since the split between the mutants and the purists. All out war has enganged much of old Illinois, Ohio, Montana, Colorado, and Wyoming. The Midwestern Brotherhood has fractured into two warring factions.

Purists:

Vocal about their belief in genetic purity and the advent of the Enclave, the Purists desire to rid the Midwest of Super Mutants, Ghouls, and humans tainted with FEV. Their leader, Adam Locke, is the de facto Elder of the Midwestern branch. He coordinates battles beneath the iron gates of his bunkers, always plotting and planning. The Purist's have abandoned their Midwestern armor, and now embody the old Brotherhood ideals. Most tribals are lucky enough to see one fully armed Paladin before they are captured for interogation. On one end, they are a tyrannical force in the Core Region, but they are also one of the few factions outside the Enclave or NCR that care about their people. All Purist bunkers are fully staffed and defended, and the citizens are included free medical and provisional benefits. They control the following:

Illinois- Chicago, Bunker Alpha
Illinois- West Peoria, Bunker Beta
Minnesota- St. Louis, Bunker Gamma
Nebraska/Kansas- Kansas City, Bunker Delta
Wyoming- Canyon City, Bunker Epsilon

" New Unity ":

The Tribal's and Mutant's who compromise a vast amount of the Core Region population are a rather makeshift brigand group. They compromise of ghouls, super mutants, tribals, rebel sympathizers and etc. The Tribalist and Mutant movement began after the fall of the Calculator, creating a power gap when the "Warrior" shut down Vault 0, sealing it off to the prying eyes of the Brotherhood Elders. The Midwest was divided between Tribals who believed the Vault should be abandoned to cater to the needs of the people in the Core, and the Purists who believed that the " Mutant Degenerates " would eventually bring the downfall of the Brotherhood. The tribal's and mutant's eventually abandoned the Brotherhood armies to form tightly knit communities, farming whatever they could muster. Junction City eventually fell into disrepair and anarchy, but the other communities thrived. The Brotherhood saw the threat posed by a growing mutant presence, and eventually sent an extermination force into Brahmin Wood, center of the movement. All the villagers were massacred, but some Elder's escaped. The survivors are now the leadership of the " New Unity ". William Kato, Henry Rogers and Alex Fostman now hold control over the fledgling movement, and have gained popular support from the various tribes of Illinois and Wyoming. They control the following communities:

Illinois: Peoria
Colorado: Buena Vista ( Power Plant and Assembly Facility disabled )
Kansas: Scott City ( Research Facility in disrepair )
Kansas: Cold Water

Current Conflict Cause:

After the Midwestern Schism, the two factions eventually came across a legendary item. The Calculator's keycard. Located formerly within the Cheyenne complex, the Midwestern BOS eventually took it into hiding, stashing it in an undisclosed location south of Brahmin Wood. The " New Unity ", now in control of the former manufacturing facilities of the Calculator's armies, is attempting to seek and reactivate the dormant machines, while the Purists attempt to open the door to Vault 0 and gain the infinite knowledge locked behind it. The casualties have been high, but the war is far from over. Who will you side with?

Character Sheet:

Name:
Age:
Faction: ( Purist or New Unity member, no one hasn't been affected by the war )
Race:
Gender:
Appearance:
Armor/Clothing: ( If Purist, be realistic and try and adopt modest Brotherhood standard gear. Not everyone is going to have PA. If New Unity member, go for something outlandish, as diversity is key in this faction. )
Weaponry:
Personality:
History:

My Char Sheet:

Name: Vicente Charro

Age: 30

Faction: Purist Brotherhood Head Paladin

Race: Hispanic

Gender: Male

Appearance: Dark Black hair, well cut, gruff in appearance but highly charismatic. Combines moderate strength with high intellect.
Armor/Clothing: Reinforced Combat Armor Mk.II during daytime planning, standard T-51B during combat operations.

Weaponry: AE-R12 Laser Rifle, AEP7 Laser Pistol

Personality: Charismatic personality, but equally cruel and cunning. Charro treats his citizens as equals, but has been known to place mutant prisoners in horrendous conditions near the ruins of Brahmin Wood. Rumoured to be mentally unstable due to war strain and depression

History: Charro was born in Bunker Delta, son of the Head Paladin of the Midwestern BOS. He assumed basic training at age 10, and excelled in basic firearm maintenance and usage. His true talent, though, was command and control. His high intellect and stunning speeches during his time as a Knight earned him respect among the community, and by age 22, assumed command of the Bunker itself. Now Head Paladin of the Purist Brotherhood, Charro has focused on cruel eradication methods to rid the mutant threat, while at the same time securing the infrastructure of his own dominion. Although Adam Locke may command the Midwestern BOS, Charro is the real politcal figure in the organization, and has no trouble expressing it. It was rumoured that during the outbreak of the Purist/Unity War, both his parents commited suicide to prevent FEV poisoning after having travelled with a trade caravan to Bunker Alpha only to be ambushed by New Unity members attempting to dip them in crude FEV vats.

After the incident, Brahmin Wood was silently exterminated of all life. His actions have earned him the name of the " Head Butcher " among the New Unity, but mass approval by the Brotherhood has prompted more power to him. As the war rages on, more tragedy had struck him. Both his son and wife were caught in a New Unity ambush party, and during the fall of Scott City, were executed along with another toll of Brotherhood sympathizers. His now fully realized genocidal beliefs flourished as the entire Purist Brotherhood has shifted from scavenging technology to the systematic eradication of all mutants. Some New Unity villages had even appealed for surrender, but he continued with his attrocious acts. Most mutants fear capture from Brotherhood Patrols, and the most they can hope for is a quick death in comparison to the pale reality of the mutant expermentation facility in Chicago. Few know of his inhumane acts in Chicago, but as the war drags on, more and more prying eyes begin to see the effects of a world gone mad with hatred. This is the age known as the Midwestern Fall.

I take it that you will post a chapter or two before we can get involved. Here is my character sheet:

Name: Silus Gent
Age: 26

Faction: New Unity/Reaver Rebellion

Race: Asian

Gender: Male

Appearance:
Short black hair. Unusually clean given the nature of his work. Multiple scars on his arms from cuts and burns he's recieved in accidents while repairing equipment. A highly modified pip-boy 2000 on his right arm. He is left-handed.

Armor/Clothing:
Traditional Reaver Banding made from steel mesh, cloth, plastic, and leather. Silus is currently tinkering with an otherwise common variant of combat armor, trying to upgrade the armor's durability and attempting to restore the computer guided combat assist systems.

Weaponry:
Silus usually carries a civilian-grade Wattz 1000 laser pistol at all times. But because of his lack of combat proficiency he has a reprogramedhttp://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20090913153740/fallout/images/5/53/FOT_Humanoid_Robot.png, scavanged from the Calculator's fallen army, as a personal bodyguard.

Personality:
A dissilussioned man who has gone through great changes in himself and the world around him. He has a bad habit for impatience that he is desperatly trying to fight. And at one time was a self-centered [censored] with an eigo the size of a mountain. He thought himself superior to all those around him due to his high intellect, but was greatly humbled when he owed his life to super mutants. Creatures he previously considered to be so stupid that they were beyond all other redeeming qualities. Silus appreciates intelligence in other people, but has come to respect integrity and honesty in his time with the mutants and tribals.

History:
Born into the Reavers, a group of people who's admiration for technology borders religious worship, Silus has known imprisonment in Brotherhood labor camps, suffering in the wastelands, and hardships in refugee camps. The only constant in his life being his heritage. His father fought and died in the Reaver Rebellions of the 2230's. A partially successful revolt by the Reaver Movement to free themselves from their Brotherhood oppressors, who had forced their entire people to live as slaves to them in concentration camps. Resulting in many deaths, but achieving the liberation of several major prison camps.

In this new era of the Midwestern Fall, the Reaver people are broken and once again being put into labor camps. The few who remain free have integrated themselves in the New Unity and restore salvaged robots from the Calculator's Army to fight the Purist. The restoration process is slow and difficult, with many calling it too little too late, but it's the best they(and Silus) can provide. He is currently stationed at the derelict robot repair center at Canyon City trying to bring the facility to at least partial working condition.

This is my first RP so hopefully I can do it justice! If you think it svcks I won't be offended if you don't use it.

Character Sheet:

Name: Sylvester Finley

Age: 20

Faction: Purist, Knight.

Race: Caucasian

Gender: Male

Appearance: Dark brown, nearly black, hair, tan, brown eyes, and muscular build. He keeps his hair parted and sports stubble. He is considered quite handsome.

Armor/Clothing: Suit of modified leather armor. The modifications included a few metal pieces added, and with the BoS symbol on the added metal shoulder.

Weaponry: AER9 Laser Rifle.

Personality: Sylvester is quiet, loyal, caring, and self doubtful. His only desires are to become a Paladin, and find a new sense of honor in the Purists.

History: Sylvester Finley, the son of Scribe Tamera and Paladin Logan Finley, was born into the Brotherhood and went through the standard training. Tamera Finley was killed early in his life when her squad, consisting of her and two paladins, was attacked by tribals. The two paladins were taken by surprise and were quickly killed.Tamera fled for safety, but was shot down quickly. His father began to hate the "locals". His father and mother had always encouraged him to become a Paladin, and that became his only desire in life. When he was relieved for the day he would fantasize about being a Paladin protecting all.....being a "Knight in Shining Armor".

When the split occurred his only focus was reaching Knight. At first he was torn between the two groups, but only months into the conflict his father was ripped apart by super mutants. That was all the convincing he needed to join the Purists. Shortly afterwards he was given the rank of Knight. For nearly two years his sole purpose was to kill every Super Mutant possible. He has recently doubted his genocidal beliefs due to the knowledge of the crimes his father committed. Logan Finley was killed in an unprovoked attack on a small village of mutants with the goal of killing everything moving. Now he only stays to honor his mother, and in hope he will find a new sense of honor in the Purists.

Hope it was good. : )

Also if there is anything you think I should change just let me know.

Since the other one I was in seemed to die off... I suppose maybe I'll throw my hat in here?

Before I get too far into designing a character and all, perhaps you could clue me in... Quantum... as to how you feel about player-created factions being introduced? I wouldn't want to interfere with your storyline or anything, it's just... I have a character I would love to bring in on this, but his group comes out of the Motor City Deadlands... and so wouldn't really fit in with the Rebels or the Purist Brotherhood fellows who're already established.

Anyhow, depending on how you feel about this, I'll either come up with something else ... or post my sheet if you give the okay.

I would think that I'd like to be someone outside, like tannanbaum. Perhaps we are a party (we as in the players) that stumble supon this and gets wrapped up?

IDK, just a suggestion, but I'd certainly like to know, so I can get up my CS

Name:Samuel Greene

Age: 34

Faction: closest it comes is independent; been travelling for a long time, but his home was in the BoS before things got really ugly. If push came to shove he would side with the Purists

Race: Human

Gender: Male

Appearance: Muscular and slow, he stands at around 5 and a half feet. He has curly brown hair and stubby nose that covers most of his face. He doesn't keep a beard, but has stubble on his face where he forgets to shave. If he goes to long without he grows a long beard (think Grisly Adams)

Armor/Clothing: In the style of the Great Khans, he wears a simple vest and long sleeved shirt. Underneath this is a layer of leather reinforced with kevlar, and a pair of former blue jeans that now function as metal studded leg armor.

Personality: Boisterous and often over zealous, Samuel pursues whatever he wishes with all of his strength. If he has a goal he will not stop, will not rest, until he has met it. Dislikes getting into fights that cannot be won, and will almost always ttempt to kill from afar, though can fight with a melee weapon.

History: As a young child, Samuel went several years without knowing the sight of the sun. He lived in a bunker. When he finally emerged as a young man, it was with the Brotherhood. He lived for only a short period of time in the ranks of the Brotherhood, but quickly became fed up with the way things were handled. He wasn't fit for their military, not the greatest shot or sword arm in the world. He learned that he had a knack for selling things, and was, to most people, very like-able. The minute he was old enough, he took what little equipment he could and left. He never saw his family again.

For a time he traveled south, and after a few close calls with a force of slowly growing slavers in Arizona, began to head west, towards California. He lived there for a time, but soon began to wonder what had happened to his home to the Northwest. He could find no new of what was happening up there, and he couldn't stand just sitting there and waiting. Within a month he packs up his things and starts on the long journey North, hoping to find the remnants of his family.
