You need to use Dosbox, look in the "past elder scrolls series" forum for tutorials and the like.

You need a proper emulator program to run it. Like http://www.dosbox.com/

EDIT: Ninja'd.

Probably a stupid question, but are you installing it via DOSBox?

I think an easier way is to just use a frontend like D-Fend Reloaded.

I also thought so...unfortunately D-fend proved quite difficult when it came to getting Daggerfall to work properly. It worked, but it was something of a pain and largely a process of trial and error, since the official guides correspond only to DOSbox directly.

I had to sift through quite a lot of misguided suggestions to find out how to get around dosbox not recognizing the cd as dosbox was mounting it.

Yeah, D-Fend simplifies the DOSbox config by making it a graphical interface, but unfortunately some of the options may seem like moon language if you don't know what they do. Someone should make a sticky or something with a downloadable profile to simplify things for everyone.

Very true. And yeah, that might help out a bit.

It's been ages since I used either DOSbox or D-fend, re-downloaded them to get Daggerfall going. I'm just glad it worked, I couldn't have taken many more "looks like you've inserted the wrong cd!" messages...
