RELz - Ashlander Tent DX

Post » Sat Feb 12, 2011 12:06 am

I've just released my latest project: Ashlander Tent DX
It's my take on an older mod by Aragon. Tribunal and Bloodmoon required.
It is compatible with, but doesn't require, Necessities of Morrowind and Kirel's Interior Weather.

Description:
Travel to the the ancient Dunmer fortress Falensarano, then head north along the road, until you see a tent with a fenced-in herd of guars.
The tent maker is waiting inside.

This mod is a deluxe remake of the original Ashlander Tent by Aragon.
Aside from the previously mentioned compatibility, I have also included a variety of new features and bugfixes.
Notably, a glitch that causes the alchemy sorter to lose it's stored ingredients has been fixed.

I have expanded the amount of storage available, and added labelled containers for orderly storage.
Light will gently flow in from the doorflap during the day.
With Kirel's Interior Weather, and it's tent addon, the wind will rustle the tent in stormy weather.
With Necessities of Morrowind, you will be able to cook in the firepit.
Thanks to Calislahn's Better Bodies compatible mannequins, the mannequins can be used to display BB compatible armor and clothing.

I have included a special "music box", based on a script from "Music Boxes v.3" by Xiamara. It can be found on the table.
Included with the mod is a set of small music files, provided with Xiamara's original mod, for testing purposes.
These are to be replaced with the MP3 files of your choosing.
The music box is a permanent fixture of the tent, and cannot be taken.
To add your own music, simply rename your MP3s to the same filenames as the provided music files,
and put them in the 'atdxmusic' folder, instead of the originals.
(*Warning!*: Do NOT replace 'atcancel.mp3' with a different file. It is needed to cancel the music.)

It should look like this:

Data Files/Music/atdxmusic/
atcancel.mp3
atsong1a.mp3
atsong1b.mp3
atsong1c.mp3
atsong1d.mp3
atsong1e.mp3
atsong1f.mp3
atsong1g.mp3
atsong1h.mp3

Note: The script has been altered, and the MP3s have unique filenames,
so this mod is fully compatible with Xiamara's original mod, for those who wish to use it.

Lastly, I have made changes to the included teleportation system.
(Which can be acquired after a quest.)
The included "teleportation amulet" has new graphics from Alaisiagae's Unique Finery Replacer,
and is no longer available until after the tent has been expanded.

The teleportation system itself is now Daedra Worship themed, rather than Temple themed. (More suitable for an Ashlander.)
It can now take you to each of the Ashlander camps, to Ebonheart and Khuul, (for expansion, and boat access)
to Caldera, (for Master Index, and Guild Guide access) to Suran, (for Silt Strider access) and can still take you to Ghostgate.

Also included is a working clock from Barabus's Clocks resource.
It can be found in the chest by the door.

I also used "Clean Daedric Statuettes", by MagicNakor and GreenEyedYam, for the small statuette of Azura.
I have also added a plugin for download made by Bjam. It allows companions to follow you into the tent. This plugin requires MWSE.

The mod is available here:

Enjoy!

Very cool! Although, to >really< make it deluxe, you should have a pack-guar thrown in to carry it around =)

Congrats on the release.

My... you're welcome, all of you! :celebration:

I have even more planned... How does Tamriel Rebuilt compatibility sound?
I'll be improving the NOM addon as well.

Lastly, yeah... Abot's Guars is excellent.
It's good for all your pack-guar needs, and you can even ride them. I use it myself.

So I have to ask...are we going to see an ATDX update not too long after the 3.0 release?
Maybe? :D

I've one suggestion though.

I think it would be nice if the player actually start this mod by revisited Elone, when Caius tell you where the Blade trainers are located and she will mark the stronghold on the map right away as soon you pick the topic "Blades Trainer".

Another possibility is that you can have this mod started with Hasphat Antabolis (1st quest-MQ), when he gave you the introduction letter to let you visited the http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Nchuleftingth.

Thanks again Gaius for this mod. :D

Hi-yer

Thanks for the mod. Trying to do a set of mlox rules for this but the readme's pretty sparse on details (like the Stinkers and Bathers one that doesn't seem to mention half of the plugins). But anyhoo...

The NoM v3 addon needs to load after "AshlanderTentDX.esp" and before "NOM 3.0.esp" but there's no mention of where the NoM v2.13 one needs to go in the load order. Currently I just have it after "AshlanderTentDX.esp" but not mandating it comes before "NoM 2.13.esp"

Then "AshlanderTentDX - Kirel IW Addon.esp" uses an Activator that's defined in "k_in_tent.esp" so you need Kirel's mod and it needs to load first

Does this look OK?

Current rules:

To Dragon32:
Don't use the old 2.13 patch. It was made for an older version (2.13) of Necessities of Morrowind.
The new NOM patch for "NOM v3.x" is to be used instead of the old 2.13 one. (It replaces the old one.)

Don't use both, just use the new one if you use the new version of NOM.
The old one for NOM v2.13 could still be used, but only with the old version of NOM. Both should not be used together.

Lastly, the 2.13 version follows the same rules as the 3.0 one...
They are the same, except for which version of NOM they are to be used with.

To Illius:
You're welcome!
I'm glad you like it. :D

Got that with the two [Requires] rules they check the size of the "AshlanderTentDX - NOM Addon.esp" plugin and the version number of NoM to ensure the right rule's given

Don't use both, just use the new one if you use the new version of NOM.
The old one for NOM v2.13 could still be used, but only with the old version of NOM. Both should not be used together.
As above, also as they're the same name one couldn't use them both together (unless one renamed them but mlox can't really cope with that).

Lastly, the 2.13 version follows the same rules as the 3.0 one...
They are the same, except for which version of NOM they are to be used with.
Excellent, I'll add in another Order rule for the NoM 2.13 version

Cheers!

And thanks for the plugin

You're welcome! :)

If I need to make another update to the new NOM addon, perhaps I should rename the plugin, just in case?
I left it with the same filename as the old version so it could be easily cut-paste installed.
(That way users can just drag/drop the files into their Data Files folder, say "yes to all", and be done with it.)

Perhaps I should change that policy?
I've found that doing it this way makes installation simpler, but maybe it causes problems...
I don't know.

Regardless, I hope you enjoy the mod. :D

Your call, mlox can differentiate between different files of the same name by using the file size, as I've done here.

However, it might be clearer to people which to use if the NoM 3.0 plugin has "NoM 3.0" in its name

You're right, it would be clearer...

If I wind up needing to make another update, I'll rename the file.
I think I'll be considering this for my plugins from now on... Thanks for the info. ^_^

Or, you could leave the actual esp file the same name - so it will continue on without having to re-buy the tent after upgrading - and name the zip file it is downloaded in with the version number.

You're welcome.

On another note, and please excuse me for going a little off-topic, is there any chance you could NOMify some of the TR house mods, too? I read the directions to do it, but I am a bit timid about the CS. If I break my game, I don't think I know enough to fix it. As far as I know, there are no ovens available anywhere on the mainland (TR mainland) and though the Firewatch farmhouse allows me to use the grill, pot, and frying pan with its fireplace, I miss being able to bake bread while I'm there and the well looks inviting but won't let me drink/refill. (There is, however, a good well in Firewatch, but I'm having serious stability problems with the patch that makes it work.)

I'll be happy to add it to my project list. :)
It could be awhile before I can get to it though... I have several other projects to finish first.

I'll be posting another topic about that shortly.
