alright so! I'm doing what freddo says in the install instructions but dosbox keeps telling me that "Directory C:\DFCD doesn't exist." when it obviously does. I know I have to be missing something very simple here that I'm over looking....any help would be much appreciated

Where did you unpack the dfinstall.zip file?

C:\Program Files\DOSBox-0.72\oldgames

Then it would be;
MOUNT D oldgames\DFCD -t cdrom -label Daggerfall

Or something like that. But you shouldn't use DOSBox 0.72, use 0.73 instead.
