I keep dying

In the tutorial level I keep dying by the time I get to the archer. What are some ways that I can keep myself alive?

Always use the "Attack-Step Backward-Step Forward-Attack" technique.
So advance toward the enemy, give a hit or two, then quickly step backwards in case he gives you a hit.

For the archer, he's stucked behind the tables, so you can use this technique with more ease.

And don't be afraid of sleeping in the dungeon. Save before, in case you get attacked in your sleep.

Yeah, I know right now I have like 1/4 health left and I found some good chargen tips. >_< I may have to start a new character to take advantages of stuff like the Ebony Dagger for Imps. Anyway, good tip. :) Anyone else?

You can avoid the skeleton altogether if you find that secret door behind the staircase...

If you enter the throne room from the lower passageways, you'll end up going up a massive set of stairs to reach the skeleton. Should you choose to bring him onto them, there's a good chance he'll fall into the void. :P

It can be done, fairly easily actually. You just need to have decent hit points, a decent weapon (I'm partial to a mace or a hammer when dealing with skeletons), and good twitch skills. That last part is the slowest to develop, particularly considering the techniques are different from most newer games I'm aware of.

8 bit means 2 to the power of 8, or 256

Okay, I'll shut up now :D
