Is there swimming?

Post » Tue Feb 15, 2011 6:29 pm

In a few of the screen shots of container they are jumping over containers floating in water. Does this game engine even have water physics and the proper mechanical tools to make an avatar swim? I mean its a floating city seem kind of mandatory. If Crysis 2 even has swimming then this should at least in brink 2.

Not that we know of, there could be some flooded sections or ankle/knee deed water.

Not that it's a confirmed no, (afaik), but I feel like there would have been some mention of it by now if there were.

I was thinking that it doesn't but I cant help but think why not its a floating city. Makes sense to add depth with little more work. Especially if it was surface swimming only. One more animation and a floor shoulder hight that que's the animation and keeps above the water. its 1st person it doest have to be all complex.

"SEC Town is a visually impressive map, set at an orange-red dusk. The map features a wide, winding, shallow river that cuts vertically through some of the map. As a member of the Resistance, it was my job to ensure that our slow-moving bot moved through river to the other side. I took advantage of the many low-hanging bridges that ran horizontally over the river. The map was perfect for my long-range rifle, and I was able to pick off my share of Security bozos on the floor below"

A river, not sure about the depth.

There's no swimming. It was asked a long time ago and they confirmed that you couldn't do it. There is water, obviously, but I suspect that it will all be wade-through-able at most.

well it's easier to end a map seam in a "floating city" at water as opposed too a huge pile of crates or a velvet rope or something stupid
so for you who wanted water/swimming i play you the worlds smallest violin :violin:

Well, I think this got answered, it was confirmed no swimming, iirc. And then the thread has gotten a bit off track with some comments from people who should know better. :stare: So I'll just lock it now and save us all some problems, mkay.
