Problem testing layout of Vault 74

Post » Thu Feb 17, 2011 12:36 pm

I just completed the layout tutorials 1 & 2 and tried to run the Vault 74 to check it out and after I type in the console command "CDC Vault74a", I get an error stating: "SCRIPTS: Script 'SysWindowCompileAndRun', Line 1: Script Command "CDC" not found. I tried to follow the instructions and make sure that the Vault 74 plugin was selected in the data section of Fallout 3 but to no avail. If anyone knows if there is something else I can try let me know. And if there is other info you need let me know that as well. Thanks.

This is because it is not 'CDC' it is 'COC'. http://geck.gamesas.com/index.php/COC stands for Center On Cell, so your telling the game you place your character into the middle of that cell (or at a Coc marker if one has been placed) within the parameter cell. Entering 'Coc Vault101a' will place me at the CocMarkerHeading within the cell Vault101a (or the Vault 101 Entrance) Hope this helps :)

How do I add COC marker? I didn't see that option anywhere? And when I type in the COC vault74a, do I type it before loading a saved game or after? Thanks.

In the object window, select 'All' as the filter, then simply type in the parameter box CocMarkerHeading and it will show. Place it in the gameworld like any other object. It looks identical to an Xmarkerheading or teleport marker, only its blue. Then place it in your cell where you want to be teleported upon entering the command. All console commands are entered AFTER loading your save. They are used to manipulate the game world and thus require a save to be manipulating data on.

Sorry to keep pestering you gunmaster, but I'm still having problems. I placed the COCmarkerheading in a hallway (I'm assuming you just place on the floor) and then loaded up a saved game and pressed the tilde key and typed first coc vault74a and nothing happened, then I tried COC Vault74a and nothing, then I tried COC Vault74 and nothing. I"m not quite sure what else to do. Thanks gmaster.

I bet you have not loaded the mod with your game.

Well, when you look at the "Cell View" window of the GECK, where all of the cells are arranged by worldspace and there's this list of cells on the left, and you have it looking at "World Space" dropdown named "Interiors", your cell has the "EditorID" listed there for it. That is the thing that is used to access the cell via the coc command.

If that's not working, you didn't tell the game to load the mod, I think? Run the game from the start menu (you need the disk in the cdrom), and there's a checkbox thingie for files I believe and your file should be listed.

If you're talking about the check box that's in the opening menu for Fallout3 that has the 'Data Files' option, I checked and the plugin is there and the box is marked. Not quite sure what I'm doing wrong. I no longer get that scripting error, but that was solved by using the console command inside the loaded game. Thanks for the help Tarrant. If you have any other suggestions feel free to throw them at me. Thanks.
