A few questions impacting my thoughts.... : Othor Games

Excuse me if a couple of these questions have been answered, and also excuse me if I make any typing errors, because I'm using my iPad.

1. As far as being shot down, and being able to wait for a Medic, is this basically like Second Chance Pro in Call of Duty, where if you're shot a couple more times, you'll die, or are you just invulnerable as you're downed?

2. Will there be stat tracking? I care a lot about K/D and W/L and stuff like that, lol.

3. Are there any gun camos? It just seems like with all the character customization, there would be, but I'm not sure.

4. GAMEBATTLES?! Please?

5. Are attachments unlocked, or are they already all there as you get the gun?

6. I have some Tritton 720's. After playing CoD and using Ninja, anytime I use anything else, I realize how annoying the sound of my own footsteps are. Not only do I want to know if there are any abilities that silent your footsteps for my own sake, but also because I know many others have headsets.

7. What exactly do you unlock as you rank up? Also, is there anything like prestiging?

Hopefully, I don't think of more, but I most likely will.

I meant if there was an implementation of anything like leaderboards.
As for GameBattles, it's a site where competitive play is organized, and some, you can even win prizes and such, but you need to pay for those. You can still play competitively for free, just you can't win anything other than the feeling of accomplishment, lol. Just check out the site. I can't explain it too well. It's GameBattles.com.

There are no leaderboards. Not global ones anyway. There is a scoreboard during matches, but even then it doesn't show K/D.

I believe that on the PC version you can set up servers where K/D and other stats are shown, however. If you want to show off your elite skills, there is a challenge mode where your times and scores are tracked and can be compared to your friend's. Still no global boards.

I'm not sure what you mean by the Gamebattles question, really. If Gamebattles wants to start doing stuff with Brink then they can. *shrugs*

H0RSE's Compendium is great, but I don't think we need to be showing frustration toward some new people that

a) Probably aren't aware of it, and
b ) Are coming to the forums with what I assume is the desire to talk with others about the game.

There's nothing wrong with setting up the link for someone, but frankly the dismissing of anyone that asks a couple innocent questions with "herr derr, read the compendium, noobz!" is getting irritating.

Had to sign in for this one.

On K/D: The designers have decided not to include k/d ratio leaderboards and such, as this is an objective oriented game and not a kill based one.

Competitive Gaming: Splash Damages' games are played competitively but I think its up to Gamebattles as a company if they include Brink as a "sponsored" game.

I know, I'm just not the biggest fan of CoD players. A lot of them worry about KD and then you have the question about prestiging. Which, to be honest, urked me just a tiny bit. lol
But I can't blame him, he's a newb and it's not a bad thing to ask questions. Just CoD things really get me a little mad. :tongue:
At least he looked into Brink, and wants to play it. This game will make him hardly ever touch CoD again. :biggrin:

on PC, the servers generate logs of everything that happens, these logs can be parsed by a third party program to generate stats needed/wanted, the game doesn't do it automattically nor are there settings to show stats in server cfg. It's a third party log parser the PC guys have been using for years

Lol, I'll gladly take that pocket ninja, kind sir. But yeah, I'm a hardcoe CoD fan, I still love it, but I want something new play, plus there are so many bad players on Blops. Ever since I first saw Brink, I wanted it, and that was about a year ago. As far as "thinking like you", it depends on which way you mean that. As far as play style, it'll kinda have to change, lol. It's not like I could go around dropshotting and stuff like that. Still, I'll always care about stats. I enjoy being able to be able to back up whether I'm good or not. Without stats, people could just say I'm getting lucky. The only mp game I was ever actually BAD at was Gears 2. But all the CoDs, Battlefield, hell, even Bioshock 2 multiplayer, I'm pretty good at. Lol, I just don't like losing, I guess. I could definitely see myself transferring over to Brink over CoD if it is as good as I'm hoping, and competitive Brink is something I'm definitely looking forward to.

I could definitely see myself transferring over to Brink over CoD if it is as good as I'm hoping, and competitive Brink is something I'm definitely looking forward to.

yeah if u play cod and games like that then u should know its gamebattles decision, not the developers. so go on there and go to forums , then site suggestions and make a thread for it. i have played on GB for years and planned on making a team for Brink for the xbox

You can get shot but it takes a lot of bullets or 1 melee

Ability called silent footstep is like ninja

About the last stand thing, ugh I hate to call it like that, I have a grudge against CoD (not the players, just the game)

When you lose all your health, you get incapacitated. You can't move or shoot and you have to choose if you want to wait for a medic or if you want to join the next respawn wave. There's an ability that lets you shoot though. You have to shoot a couple of bullets to finish off downed enemies, you basically force them to go into the next respawn wave. You get XP for hitting enemies, not for finishing them off.
