Past Addiction

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 1:09 am

My first time playing online was on the ps3, which blew my mind. The first game I played online was COD4, which I also was addicted to until battlefield bad company came out. Then CODWaW came out with its nazi zombies also got me addicted. But the most addicting game I ever played was fallout 3. Tons of locations to explore, collecting all the bobbleheads, and trying to max out all skills, while completing each quest(two or more times for different endings), collecting all weapons, trying to make as much bottlecaps as possible, messing around in the game(killing everybody), and recruiting a different follower for each save, and a lot more stuff. Fallout 3/me caused my ps3 to overheat and get the ylod, which happened before summer vacation. I was on a 2 month vacation out of the country, which made me crazy just searching info on Fallout New Vegas. Once I got back I bought a new ps3 and I am replaying it today until I beat the game again. Now I'm waiting for Fallout New Vegas which I also will probably be addicted too. My fallout 3 addiction also caused other addictions such as wanting to build a bunker under my house for fun, making a cold war museum in my dream bunker, and more wild dreams.

I justed wanted to know if anybody else has the same addiction.

I was addicted for a while when I first got it, but not anymore. I imagine it'll be the same thing with New Vegas.

La la la... :whistling:

Addict? Oh, no... no, I can quit any time, really. :hehe:

Previously addicted to a great Indy fighting game called Lugaru. Best hand-to-hand/melee game made, gameplay wise.

Then a few (ahem) hours of Halflife2...

I was addicted for a long time, really never had a game quite as addicting as Fallout 3 was. It was just so fun to explore. I think my full addiction hit when I finally headed to DC in search of Dad and GNR, the atmosphere of the game really took hold. My addiction passed though, when the DLC came out for the PS3 and Broken Steel literally broke the game, all the bugs took all the magic away, exploring was gone in Point Lookout, it was mostly taking it very slowly so the game wouldn't freeze.

Yes to Fallout 3. No to New Vegas. So far I haven't been to pleased with what I have heard. Memory leaks, dlc exclusive to the XBox, and Steam requirement which will kill FOSE, and a lot of the good mods for FO3 depended on it. So its unlikely I will be buying it any time soon. :sadvaultboy:

Edit: Didn't take me long at all to start loving NV. Perhaps I should have played it first before voting lol

Yes to FO3. I'm waiting to see how many bugs will be in NV, and some real reviews, until I decide whether or not I will get it.

I've spent hundreds of hours playing Fallout 3 but I'm not addicted to it. I don't think about it when I'm not playing it and I'm quite capable of leaving long gaps in between plays. The reason I keep coming back to it is because it's so damn good.

I voted Yes I am a FO3 addict, but in truth I am no longer. I was incredibly addicted; I never sat for 8 hours straight playing a game before in my life until FO3. Nor have I ever still been interested in a game a year and a half after it's purchase like I was with F3. I'd estimate I put 700+ hours into it. I voted "I've got to play it first" for NV because although my enthusiasm was at a Mt.Everest high peak it's since descended into skeptical anticipation due to all the horrible talk of bugs; and my pre-order delay isn't helping at all either.

I'm trying to stay optimistic though. With the millions who have bought the game the 15 or so threads on bugs in the 360 issues forum is perfectly acceptable when it comes to %'age. I've never really run into insane bugs and when I do I've often been able to figure out how to get around/resolve them.

Fallout 3, Oblivion, and hopefully Fallout Vegas(Already getting there) .

For the first 2 games, yes I'am addicted.

After all these years, these 2 games I just cannot get sick of. There is so much going on, and it feels like I'm really changing the world around me.

These are the only games that svck me in and makes me feel I'm apart of a world.. After gaming for 25+ years, these are the best in my opinion.

I used to be addicted from day one. The addiction grew to absurd levels when I discovered the wonders of Modification. But as of now - maybe it's just my life in the army - I'm only hardly interested in playing Fallout 3 and despite attempts of doing something I end up taking short, half-hour walks around the game and quit.
