Amazingly Fun

I recently started a new character, a Marksman/Blade type character. It's surprisingly fun sneaking around, getting sneak attack critical arrow hits, or hunting and making a profit from the hide and meat. Here's a little excerpt from his journal.

The Steed, 21, 3E433

I stumbled upon and old Ayleid ruin during my hunt, the minute my hand touched the door I sensed an ominous presence. As I walked in, a smell of decay and mold swirled into my face, burning my nostrils. I quickly grabbed a rag from my pack and wet it with a restore fatigue potion, wrapping the cloth around my nose and mouth. "What is this place?" I asked myself in my head, unsheathing my bow from the strap on my back. I crept through the shadows, pure magicka fluttering in the pitch darkness. I equipped a ring of detect life, and immediately I saw hunched creatures. "Undead?" I thought in my head. I could hear an ancient trap slicing the air. "The Ayleids were truly brilliant, despite how wicked they were," I whispered. Suddenly, I heard a battle-cry, no doubt the voice of a male Imperial, such as myself. I slowly rounded the corner, only to see the Adventurer cut down my the undead abomination, a headless Zombie. Hatred consumed my mind, I quickly knocked and arrow, and sent it flying at the head of the vile sack of rotting flesh. seeing no other signs of life, I slowly walked over to the Imperial's corpse. He looked no more than 18, a note shoved in-between his belt. This is what it read,

"If you are reading this, then I am likely dead. I only hope that I was able to slay these vile undead that claimed the life of my beloved Marie. Please, take this note to my mother, in Chorrol, I don't want her heart to ache for the rest of her life. My last request, is that you take my blade, Lamina Elementum, to the chapel of Mara, in Bravil."

Matthias Maximus

"What a poor soul." My heart filled with sorrow, and I made a vow to slay every undead I find in my travels, in the most brutal manner possible."Requiescat in pace," I said, as I laid a blanket from my bedroll over his body, placing a flawless diamond on his chest, and saying a silent prayer. With that, I left the ruin, Matthias' blade in hand, note in my pocket, and set out for Chorrol and Bravil.

So, I ask, what characters do you guys have the most fun with? Stealth? Melee? (with the epic one on one sword fights). Mage? :D

What a lovely little episode! Way to make up your own quest. :goodjob:

Most fun for me? Aww, Grizz, you know my character well. Mystic archer, of course. :wavey:

I prefer stealth type characters, especially archers. My favorite character to RP with is my Bosmer Recon Sniper, Elberond. He has a particular hatred of Necromancers and their Undead minions and hunts them without mercy. He will also eliminate any vampire nest he comes across. He collects (but does not use) Ebony arrows, enchanted or not.

Nice little story. At any rate I find all three styles and combinations of entertaining. There's no style I dislike although I always lean more towards Mage. Despite having pure warriors and the like.

What's amazingly fun for me is to immerse myself in Oblivion. Demicus, my character, is a swordsman with hints of mystical talent in him, like illusion expertise.

I have to say that the character that I have the most fun with is my Breton illusionist. She only carries a dagger (Witsplinter at the moment), and she relies solely on the school of Illusion. Frenzy and Invisibility FTW!

For some reason I have never used illusion skills any role-playing game..... guess being skilled at not combating opponents bores the sad, simple Orc. :(

Oh, in this one it can be a combat art. Command Humanoid, Command Creature, AoE Frenzy, Paralyze, and Calm spells work wonders.

And how did you manage to do that, exactly? ^_^

   I didn't catch that. Lol. The first appendage that came to mind when shooting an arrow was the head, didn't even remember writing the headless zombie bit. xD cookies for catching that! :cookie:
