Trying again (Stil confused)

I put a message in a while back and got answers that didn't help me understand.

If I'm messing with Oblivion nifs and I wish to change the colour of say a set of armor I would open the nif in
Nifscope and drop down the links in left tree and find the path link to the texture file that it currently uses, I can then right click
and browse to the new .dds file I want to use and select that and save the nif. When I go in game I have an armor set of a
different colour, this alows to copy the original nif and make a one off set by duplicating in CS and using a different ID and then
selecting the copied nif file as source

I tried to do this with nif files from Fallout 3 and I notice in Nifscope when I expand the tree I can not find a link to the path
where the .dds file is. The wee goldie coloured icon where the image is is there but no purple coloued icon for the .dds file
path like there is in Oblivion.

It was said to retexture using GECK I have looked and can't find where to change .dds files in nifs and the tutorials I found
are all the Oblivion ones

I'm lost

Thanks in advance

What you will do is click on the thing you want to retexture, whether its a nitrishape or nitrinode, you will expand it. Then you need to look for BSShaderPPLightingProperty. When you expand that you will see BSShaderTextureSet, click on it. it will then change the other box (not the tree box) to say Texture and such. Just expand that and you should see the linked dds file. I hope this is what your asking :)

Thank you,.. I found the path down in the Block Details not under Block List as I use to with Oblivion files
