[Req/Search/Idea] Smoother vanilla tree meshes?

Over the years I used most (if not all) of the "new" trees for Morrowind, from those (now) old ones you can find in mods like "green, leafy, forested Morrowind", "better looking Morrowind", "gardeners of Morrowind" and so on, over smaller and (seemingly) pretty unknown (and definitely questionable) ones like http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=10448 to more recent stuff like Vality′s and Vurt′s trees.
Liked some, didnt like others, but even the ones I liked didnt feel right in my game. Just too much of a change.

I basically like the vanilla trees. (Am I the only one, btw?) Not so much for how the trees look, but for the overall look they create in combination with the rest of the landscape. All those new trees just turn the landscape into something totally different. And I usually dont want that.

But the vanilla trees are just "a little" too edgy, especially the west gash trees and ascadian isles (mushroom-) trees. Sadly I′ve never seen a mod that just makes the meshes smoother...has anyone else found or done something like that? Or thinking about doing it?
Or can anybody tell me if thats something that would be relatively easy to do, given the right program(s)...?
