Vault Dweller/Chosen One Halloween Costume

Post » Sun Feb 27, 2011 8:08 am

Hey guys, as you might know Halloween is coming up. With plenty of parties to go to I am in need of a costume. And being the Fallout nerd that I am I have decided to make a Vault Dweller/Chosen One costume. Basically to look like http://media.photobucket.com/image/vault%20dweller/SwordOfJustice2007/Fun/vault_dweller.jpg except I would not have the "armored" part. Basically how the Vault Dweller looks the moment he steps out in FO1. I'm on a low budget here, so any tips you could give me like what is the best paint to use on clothing would be fully appreciated (as long as it's cheap).

So far I have figured out that this is what I need

Nerf Maverick Rev-6 (10mm Pistol ) (I'm not good enough to make a pistol out of wood or anything so this will do)
Stuff to paint the Maverick (Paint, sandpaper etc) Any paint suggestions? I heard Krylon Fusion for plastic is good.
Blue Jumpsuit (ok so I need a lot of help on this one, where can I get one cheap?)
Yellow paint for jumpsuit (best to use on clothing?)
Combat Boots (I'm guessing military store)

Thanks for any tips guys! I'll post pictures! :fallout:

For the vault suit (unless you want a skin-tight one) consider simply buying a blue coverall (from your local work supply or thrift shop) and some yellow piping (from a fabric store... I have the proper terminology wrong, piping is usually too small, but the fabric lady will know)... then get fabric glue (from the same shop)... gluing on the yellow trim will be easy and look far better than any kind of paint. Voila! Vault suit..

I guess you're right I will have to check the fabric shop out. Thanks :tops:

I saw someone dressed as the Vault Dweller a few Halloweens back. Was dead impressed.
