So I got fallout 1 and was turned off by the graphics and turn based system, but I kept playing and well I'm glad I did. Friggin love this game glad I got it. This is all. Also wondering if it took you guys a little bit to get into fallout 1?

Definitely took a bit to get used to a combat system which I have never played before. Although, I think the game looks really good with the HR patch running on a 1080P monitor.

Man, the first time I played Fallout 2, I just stopped right after the Temple of Trials (or was it at the start of Klamath). Anyway, I didn't play much and the UI bugged me and I just got annoyed by it. Then, a few months later, I decided to start with Fallout 1 and play again. This time I read the manual and some tips on the internet and it went way better. Played through both games in 1-2 weeks and immediately replayed Fallout 2. Good times.

In short, yeah, it took me a bit to get into it, but I'm glad I did.

I played Baldur's Gate before I played Fallout 1, and honestly, I was not sure if I'd made a mistake . The graphics were fine IMO (still are IMO), but the combat system was unwieldy (until I read the fantastic manual that came with it). Once I realized the potential and skope of the game I was hooked (and have been ever since). I'd say it took me less than an hour* to start my appreciation of it, and that grew as I played.

*Maybe slightly more... It was around the time I reached the Khans.

No I liked it as soon as I heard the Overseer's speech in the intro.

I ended up playing the demo, from my friend's game magazine, to death. When I picked up the game, I loved it even more. This was around 97/98, so things where a lot more basic, then.
When 2 came out, I think I locked myself away for a few days and just played that game to death.

Roughly from the point my friend said to me "Hey, you gotta play this game, its got McGyver in it".

i always felt about about robbing Killian though.

I played the downloadable demo of FO1 and fell in love with fallout every since, of course back in my day we had to buy our games by walking 10 miles in the snowup hill (both ways) to the software ect store only to find them closed on Tuesdays, lol I do remember it took all day for my dial up to download the zip file (which I think by today’s standards would take at most 2-5 minutes I don’no) The fallout Demo was almost a separate game I remember that it was very different when I got to Barter Town in FO1 and was like wow its not the same as the demo, but the magic was there in the demo the first time I decided hell I’ll try shooting everyone in the town just to see what happens good times.
