Not really popular. If it was marketed and advertised better then yeah, but right now it's really just word of mouth and that doesn't work all the time.

I'd say pretty popular since I've seen a good amount of people know about it from competitive forums such as overclocking/hardware/gaming. Average person has no idea though.

Mostly unheard of. I started a thread on the escapist today and there were a lot of people who had never heard of it. Needs to be advertised more. I look forward to the Pinflux video's for Brink indeed.

They need to do a large all encompassing video of how it looks right now. The delay messed them up big time,I remember seeing ads on you tube awhile back for like 2 days. I digress though, bet word will get around fast once it releases. If it gets bad reviews then they are screwed royally.

Unfortunately, I don't think it's too popular. I mean, I just learned of this game from a small blurb in Game Informer---but also mostly because it's on Bethesda's list of game forums. (I play Elder Scrolls games and there's new Beth. games called Skyrim and Rage coming out, so that was why I would be there). If it wasn't for that, I don't think I would have known about the existence of this game. -_-

Also, there are other games/sequels of well-known developers or favorite series that are coming out this year that are showing new info and getting more publicity: Killzone 3, Rage, Uncharted 3, Arkham Asylum, Skyrim, Mass Effect 3, Deus Ex, some other shooters and RPGs, etc.

I think it needs to be advertised a little more or, at the very least, show up on the radar with new news and info or game footage... Something to remind people this game is still existing.

However, I think maybe they will show the game more as May comes closer, so here's hoping to that. :)
I just pray it doesn't get lost in the sea of shooters (especially first-person shooters which are becoming more and more common)!

I imagine Brink will probably become a sleeper hit. It will most likely get great reviews, and have a small but devoted following. It won't get to the level of Call of Duty or Halo, but it will still make some pretty good waves. All in all, it will definitely be a success.

I personally hope more people catch on to Brink. SD is a very talented company, they deserve more attention.

I wouldnt say its Blockbuster as there are plenty of people who dont play games who havent heard of it, or know anythign about it.

Like movies, I may not watch movies or pay attention to em, but I hear about the Blockbusters.

Like Black Ops, that is a Blockbuster, everyone knows about it.

A fine line between very popular and blockbuster.

For Pc gamers its pretty quiet about BRINK, but i remember and still have the flyer for it inside my Fallout 3 Xbox case along with the Fallout NewVegas Ad
So lots of Xbox Gamers will have at least heard of it if they have that game.
The release date was 2010 so they pushed a while ago, nothing beats a Video, at least of some gameplay.
Browsing here and SD forums give me stroggadejavu :stroggbanana:

HI BTW, hope to slide up jo face some timez

Yes, I hope it will be a sleeper hit at the very least. I have just seen an ad of it in a magazine recently, so it's still getting publicity. Luckily, we are still far away from release, so new videos/trailers/ads/etc can be done closer to release.

(I just have a fear of games not doing well since good games like Okami and Beyond Good and Evil get under the radar and game companies go out of business or no sequel is made, etc)

I only heard of it on Steam Store, usually when a new game comes out it's a headliner but still not good odds for the recognition it deserves, love this game but clearly not enough budget for marketing.--Pretty Popular is my vote.

Edit:I think i might have been drunk while posting this theres so many errors and i don't even drink!

I had to educate all of MY friends about this game... unfortunately it's being over-shadowed by the other giants on the market.

I did that also, I told one of my friends everything I knew about the game. Then he asked "Have you played it", I said "No, it's not out yet", then he said "Certainly sounds like you've played it because you know so much" haha

I am fearful that this game may not get enough devoted fans thats one of my biggest fears. I don't doubt that it will get great reviews but I am worried that they will not get a following like Halo and other games but I am just hoping that they pick it up before the release date comes up. I am hoping. GULP.

Brink,Skyrim and mabe uncharted 3 don't play on PS3 much more 360 these days. Thats all I really want this year. I think we need to force a brink meme upon the public to drum up business. "lolz my neck is huge"
