Prints & powder-steps ?

Post » Tue Mar 01, 2011 9:28 pm

Prints (blood and steps) on snow, on grass, on sand (sand in Skyrim ? Why not...) ; Powder clouds behind you, when run on horseback (like Mount and Blade) or with your only legs...

....I hope to see these things in Skyrim....

I would like to be able to track. either they implement this option or not, if they put prints in game, it shouldn't be very dificult to mod this feature. so, yes I would like to see prints implemented.

Would be a nice way to add to sneaking.

That would be an awesome variation of Detect Life. Wouldn't be as useful as Detect Life if they person is in range but if the actual person isn't in range you can see the tracks of everyone who has walked there recently. The brighter the marks are, the more recent the step is so you know what way they went, just like a heat signature.

It would be a really great addition.

I don't think the OP meant tracks with a heat signature.

But that would be a pretty cool function.

It would be also a very interesting alternative to questmarkers, when the quest objective is an NPC or a creature.

Nehrim did something like that for one quest, you had to cast a spell that really screwed with your vision, but allowed you to track a group of people.

This would be wonderful for hunting, you find tracks, identify them, and follow them.

The heat signature thing was just a metaphor but it would be basically the same thing. It just tracks the, well, tracks.
