Anybody else doing this?

All right, so now we all know that Skyrim is the next game in the TES series. So, with that in mind, is anybody else setting their Oblivion characters up for a trip to Skyrim? As in, buying fur armor, stocking up on food, heading up to Bruma, etc? Or am I just weird like that?

For quite sometime my character and I have envisioned a storyline that will take us to Skyrim (via imagination/mods/fanfic) that will uncover secrets leading to revealing the hidden location of Frostcrag Spire in Cyrodiil. We also have similar plans in Valenwood for another storyline. Frankly, we wish TES V were slated for another province because we suspect that although the game may very well be wonderful, it will conflict or even contradict our vision/plans. It definitely represents a wrench in our plans.

To your question however, I will wait at least a year after release to consider TES V. I always allow new games time to get wiki'd, reviewed, patched, modded, evaluated, etc. If TES V passes muster, I expect to get it at that point. If so, I'm sure it will be my same character and I traveling there. She will no doubt want to enchant a horse blanket with resist frost to help protect her mare.

Nope! my character is already in Skyrim!
He is the son of my current character, and moved up there with his mother, when Rythe and the mother seperated.

I did notice that my 5th level Dunmer changed out of his leather and into his furs as I headed past Gutted Mine.
Perhaps I am just as weird as you?!

Oh, and I do want my spears back as well. Crossbows too!!

I'm starting a complete "playthrough" of the Elder Scrolls. I started Arena the other day, and will play through Daggerfall, Morrowind, and Oblivion.

I'm restarting my original Arena "Glargg" character, a Nord Barbarian. His younger brother "Argg" will do Daggerfall. "Glargg Son of Argg" will do Morrowind, and "Argg Son of Glargg" will do Oblivion. We'll have to see where exactly Skyrim falls on the timeline, to see what member of the family will be running around slaughtering there. :)

That sounds cool! How long are you expecting to take to complete it?
With only 11 months to go I can feel the first sign of snow falling already.

I have no idea how long it will take. My characters tend to develop interests in things other than main quests, so we usually go through quests in round-about ways.

I had forgotten how clumsy Arena's interface is! Yow, I've slipped back to the land of DOS! ;)
