Custom Class builds anywhere?

Post » Mon Mar 07, 2011 8:11 am

Hey everyone,

Does anyone know where I can find a list of custom builds for Oblivion? I'm looking to make a pure Illusionist type character. Someone who generally doesn't get involved in combat.

Thanks.

Willpower and Personality

Mage or Thief

Illusion (Mind Control Spells, Chameleon, Invisibility)
Sneak (Chamelon COMPLIMENTS not replaces this skill)
Conjuration (Not to sneaky, but lets something else fight for you)
Any Offensive Combat Skill (Face it, your eventually going to have some wet work)
Security OR Alteration
The remaining skills are to taste, I would avoid armor to get the most out of Illusion.

Sneak, Cast Frenzy on a group. Maybe toss out a monster with conjuration. Disappear. Repeat as Necessary until only one remanins alive. Send in a monster or use your offensive skill (Blade, Blunt, Marksman, Conjuration, Destruction, Hand to Hand) to clean up the last guy.

It's a fun playstyle IMO.

I'd agree with much of this. Definitely Mage birthsign (or Apprentice, if you don't mind the weakness to magic, which is not much of an issue if you're not in direct combat.) You will need a lot of magicka to play this kind of character.

You don't need any combat skills, though. Paralyze on Touch will take care of enemies that get too close, and they won't if you're invisible. And Absorb Health on Touch (a Restoration spell) is incredibly effective as a close-in weapon.

Also, a short duration Command can work more effectively on small groups than Frenzy, because it doesn't draw attention to you. With Frenzy, you might find the whole group attacking you!

Throw some Speed in there somewhere. At least fortify it somehow. At early levels, before you reach the necessary skill level in Illusion, you will be running away a lot.
