Starting to play again

Post » Mon Mar 07, 2011 8:47 am

Hey everyone, im starting to actually play again, I have played fallout before but never really paid attention to well anything lol, I just went in the game got all the trophies and stopped playing.

Well I have gotten the urge to play again and I have some questions.

1.) How do enemies respawn? Do they respawn every 3 days like in oblivion? and where do they respawn, only on the outside, or do they respawn even in the ruins/caves/homes

2.) Are the enemies leveled?

3.) Do you only start meeting certain enemies after you do some quest? Since I just meet a enclave but I have done no quest at all, I thought that I had to do the raven rock quest.

4.)I am planning on making the sniper shack my house, do enemies respawn near there?

5.) Where can I find bullets for the sniper? I only had the ones that come with a sniper in the hollowed out rock, but I can't find anymore.

Thank you guys in advance!

BTW grenades rock O-O

1) not to sure. everytime I go to super-duper mart it's empty. Depends on where it is, what they want etc.

2) Enemies level with you like oblivion. (atleast I think they do. seems like it)

3) Just exploring i'v found brotherhood people, enclave etc. without ever doing quests for them or anything. just randomly see them in the wastes.

4)Dunno where that is.

5) Sniper bullets can be found anywhere really. Some raider camps have ammo boxes around, just depends where you go and such. You can buy sniper ammo from vendors.

Not all enemies re-spawn, those that do take a few days, some more than others it seems. They re-spawn where you left them. For example Bethesda seems to have all the raiders re-spawn in a group that happened to be standing on a cluster of mines. Poor Raiders, every time I show up they set those mines off.

Warning do not fast travel to the deathclaw sanctuary, you end up next to two deathclaws, for more fun you might have an enclave outpost nearby.
So yes some location and enemies respawn, situation is also dynamic, has run into a enclave outpost who was overrun by raiders wearing a mix of raider and enclave equipment with the dead enclave nearby.

Level scaling; monsters are scaled you run into stronger version at higher level, human npc gain levels / skill and I suspect their equipment has higher quality at higher level. However no raiders in power armor (unless they stole it :) )
However broken steel brings three interesting +1000 hp enemies you will enjoy running into

They respawn every three days. They respawn mainly outside, there are two locations that I can think of where they respawn.

2.) Are the enemies leveled?

No.

3.) Do you only start meeting certain enemies after you do some quest? Since I just meet a enclave but I have done no quest at all, I thought that I had to do the raven rock quest.

If you have the GOTY, there is a glitch where you might meet an enclave soldier earlier than normal. I've seen Deathclaws at level 2.

4.)I am planning on making the sniper shack my house, do enemies respawn near there?

Move this to spoilers section and I will answer you.

5.) Where can I find bullets for the sniper? I only had the ones that come with a sniper in the hollowed out rock, but I can't find anymore.

Purchase from vendors. Take a trip north of the wasteland if you have the Pitt DLC.

Sniper shack doesn't have respawning enemies on top of that location, but it's a location that often spawns a talon company hit sqaud or regulators. Shouldn't be a problem for you and would provide a steady supply of talon armor and weopons/amo etc. :)

2. Actually, the enemies don't level with you but they are more stronger that higher difficulty level you have. I recommend raising the difficulty as you level up, or the enemy-killing starts to feel too easy.

Thanks everyone for the help, so basically enemies respawn on the wasteland but not inside buildings?

Yesterday I got home and started playing nonstop, I just kept telling myself one more hour, one more hour, I ended up sleeping at midnight lol.

So yea im just wondering around the wasteland doing well nothing. I recently encountered a bucnch or raiders on the outside of a building making rounds, if I kill them they will respawn after three days as long as I don't go near there right?

I have encountered alot of raiders with the love for rocket launchers lol, the fact that I still have a body after getting bombarded with rockets is shocking

The enemies don't seem to level but as the player's level increases certain enemies are replaced by tougher variations. I've been wandering the wasteland for weeks at level 25-28 and every other enemy is an albino radscorpion, with the other half being sentry bots. Its obvious that this is not the case for a lower level character.

1)Enemies do respawn, im just not certain how often.
2)No. Atleast i don't think they are.
3)No, all enemies are available at the start.
4)Not sure, sorry.
5)Your best bet would be to buy them from Chief Gustavo who is the gate guard for tenpenny tower. As far as i know he is the person who carries the most 308. rounds for sale.

This is spot on how it works in Fallout 3.

The map designer places a spawn marker, then indicates what types of enemies should appear based on the player's level. So they could make it that you only ever see a Super Mutant Master, or they could make it so that you see a mole rat, then a raider, then a regular super mutant, then a master depending on what level you are when the cell resets and everything respawns.
