Super mutant overlords

Post » Tue Mar 08, 2011 8:06 am

I was doing the vault 87 quest. Seemed like the muties were everywhere in there. This one overlord said something i never heard before. " Why won't you hurry up and die already. I'm hungry" For some reason that pissed me off. So i put my gun away popped a stealthboy and pulled out one of my super sledges i just picked up and beat him to death with it. I can't repeat some of the things he was yelling out loud during his beat down. God this game is so fun.

I remember the same stuff he said when I was freeing Red for a quest.
I was stuck in the basemant (I think) of a police station, and that overlord had one hell of a mouth on him.
Those things take FOREVER to kill to

Unless you whip out Vengence, or even Eugene gets the job done.

I never really got far enough in the story to get the good stuff on my first playthrough. I got side tracked and ended up making myself like 10,000 caps through robbing, killing, [censored] and destroying small settlements.

Sounds funny to me

Paulsons revolver and novasurge can take em out fairly quickly as well, and if your a decent sneak I noticed the unique autoaxe (manopener) took off half of their health with the sneak critical hit in VATS.... took about another 10seconds of chewing them up with it after you come out of sneak but that kinda makes it more satisfying!

I just noticed this that Paulson’s Revolver had the shotgun feature as I call it. A sneak attack with the terrible shotgun, metal blaster, Paulson’s and perhaps other will do critical damage for all bullets/ beams who hit. Three requirements, you have to do a sneak attack, you have to get pretty close because of spread and you can not use VAT.
Upside is extreme damage; Thinking of switching load out to gauss rifle, Paulson’s Revolver, novasurge and vengeance. Each has its purpose; sniping, sneak attack, VAT and pure damage.
Paulson’s Revolver is lighter and does more sneak attack damage than metal blaster, downside it less standard damage and higher spread.

I never really worked out the pellet damage and range etc, but I do remember Paulsons revolver took chunks of health out of the bullet sponges fairly quickly, and try it out over medium range as well, the pellet spread didn't appear to be that bad and it still did a good 'chunk' damage per shot over a little bit of distance. Novasurge was nice in VATS, perhaps a bit too nice with high EW skills and items that buff Action Points!

If you've been on board zeta and have those guns then you might also have found the electro suppresor as well, that will make the bullet sponges very easy to kill!

My Zeta weopon of choice though is the Atomic Pulvorisor, no where near as powerful as the others but weighs only 2, fairly good for ammo as long as you looted everything on the spaceship but the main plus is it has a very very low AP cost in VATS. If you looted and bring back all the alien weopons then you will have plenty for repairs as well :)

I've heard that before. I thought mutants other than Overlords say that. Not sure though.

Muties say some funny things. Particularly if you listen to conversations before they see your character. I wish they had more dialog.
