Which Fallout do you prefer and why?

Post » Tue Mar 08, 2011 3:27 pm

Not trying to start a flame war or anything, I'm just wondering what people's preferences are at this point. Me, I like New Vegas better. The glitches and bugs are quite annoying (lost a 4 hour save!) but I really like the atmosphere and the tense sense you get when exploring the wasteland, since the encounters aren't scaled and you never know if you're gonna come across a deathclaw at level 2 or something. :)

Which do you guys prefer?

I have to pick Fallout 3 since I could play that game without it breaking.

Fallout 2's probably always gonna be my favorite. Nostalgia ties, and all. But between 3 and New Vegas? From what I can play of New Vegas - without constant freezing - it just seems to have that 'Fallout' feel that 3 lacked. (3 was a wonderful game, don't get me wrong)

Very hard to decided I love fallout 3 but nee Vegas just has so much more to the quests and locations I haven't put in a hundred hours into this game yet so I don't know but i think ill end up liking new Vegas just for the games replay ability for the quests

I would say fallout3 and New vegas, they are the most recent fallout games and they both have there pros and cons.

Haha! Give me an 'all of the above' except for PoS... er... BoS...

Yeah, that's about it. I don't have a preference. If I had to pick a FAVORITE so far, though, I'd say New Vegas. Haven't even gotten a chance to play it in all its glitchy, buggy goodness... but you can be damn sure that I -want- to. And I -want- to a lot more than I ever wanted Fallout 3. Bah!

That said, I love the original games... despite their infuriating me. Fallout 1 was epic... but short-sighted.

I could beat the game in MINUTES, if I wanted to. The real challenge came from trying to EXTEND it... and that wasn't always so easy.

Fallout 2 was more of the same goodness... only it at least didn't force me to artificially extend my playtime. I could just go right on ahead, beat the game, and go back to 'survivalism mode'. The only thing that made me sad was the meaninglessness of radiation and such things in Fallout 2.

Fallout 3? Loved it. Finally a first person fallout game, I say... perfectionism be damned... I just wanted a first person game in the fallout universe. I don't need a game-supplied plotline to keep me thrilled.

New Vegas? Everything except the technical aspect is Fallout 3... only better in every conceivable way.
