Fallout 3, very good game very addicting,
Thank you!
i was very disappointed about the way the game turned out, The Main quest alternativly ends the game if followed all the way,
I get the most enjoyment from exploring the nooks and crannies in Fallout. There's plenty of excellent content that's not in the main quest, and a lot of the side stuff is more fun to me.
you only get to level 20 with the game maxing out your exp, leaving no room for errors or maxing out your characters S.P.E.C.I.A.L or Skills chart. In Elder Scrolls Such as oblivion or morrowwind, you could keep playing your game after the main quest line is done you could keep leveling up to high levels giving you the opertunity to max out your stats.
Is it really better to become a god within the game? I find it refreshing that you get enough skills in the game to make yourself really good in about 1/4 of the available skills. When I think about making a character, I might specialize in small guns, explosives, lockpick and repair, and have some middle of the road stats in sneak and other skills. The next time I play through, maybe it's a stealth melee speech character that I want to play as. It makes me try to think about what type of character I want to be, and how my approach to combat and other methods of play changes when I make different characters. Once I get to level 20, I tend to play for a few more hours while looking for high-level areas, or I finish off the main quest. After that, I start a new character and focus on an entirely different set of skills, and see how the game plays like that. If you never increased your speech skill the first time around, maybe you should try a high Charisma and Speech character next time. The game will be quite a bit different.
In Oblivion I would always end up working towards a character that was good at all skills, and I wound up taking the easiest path for getting the job done. That made the game not as challenging or interesting as things could have been. I could start out doing a Dark Brotherhood quest using stealth, but if I botched it and got into combat with everyone, I wasn't worried because I was so magic and combat proficient that I could kill just about anything. It would be much more tense if I had to sneak through an area getting stealth kills because I wouldn't be able to easily survive open combat. Fallout does a much better job of building your character towards a specific play style.
Now with that said, i would like to ask wich is truly better, the game where they stop you from, in my opinion (having fun), or the game that keeps on going. I guess you can base a bias on my comment but i truly was disappointed in fallout 3 seeing Bethesda's free roam and open world games. IF they could put in a download to make the max level, i dont know say 100 and make it so if you dont choose to kill yourself at the end of the main questline, if you can keep going and playing the world of fallout. If that were to happen in my mind i would give this game a 20/10, not possible to some but to me it is. With my Opinion Aside i let you people judge for yourself and really think about your answer, so if there are enough editorial spam out there they may change those mishaps in the game, thanks for reading. Accepting all replys.
If you were a level 100 character with 2500 hit points, would a deathclaw still be scary? I don't think so. I like the feeling that I'm not invincible at level 20, it keeps the tension up in certain areas.
There were a lot of other things that I like about Fallout over Oblivion, including the much higher density of art and clutter, phrases that you can choose from in dialogue instead of topics, more interesting dungeons, more complex dialogue, targeted shots, crippled limbs, perks, and a bunch of other stuff. Wandering around outside in Fallout is much more rewarding too, as you always stumble across little interesting things out in the wasteland. I do miss the utter freedom of Oblivion's spellcrafting and enchanting systems, and the little side quests that take a few minutes to complete. While Fallout has a more archeological history told by the world, I feel like Oblivion has more of a character history. All of the races come from other regions with lots of backstory, history books, daedra, and various gods.
There are some things that previous Elder Scrolls games did better than Fallout, but I think overall there are a lot of things that Fallout does better.
