I was just wondering if we(as a fanbase) have cracked the Draconic language yet or if it was possible? I know that we can translate from rune into Draconic but can we take any Draconic word and then translate it to English or vice versa? Could I take a phrase and translate it into Draconic and then convert it into runes?
Will it be the kind of thing that we will only know words that they have given to us or is their some underlying 1:1 translation?

You sure can. Go to the Skyrim HUB at Game Informer. There you can work on translating what is in the theme. Gives some of the lore too. Very cool.

So draconic is just as translatable to English as any Earth language. Of course, if you know anything about actually translating a foreign language, you will know that there is no such thing as a 1:1 translation. There are several words in other languages that have no English equivalent, and there are words in English that don't translate at all into some other languages. And then there are connotations and denotations, dialects, personal opinions on the meaning of specific words... Translating is a serious business.

Ok, so all we really know about it then is the list of words provided?

Some, on the Game Informer Hub. Seriously. I spent about an hour translating the text. I felt like a little kid with a cereal box decoder.

So far, we can translate runes to Roman alphabet, and a handful of words to English. So you can translate Runed English (similar to Daedric runes, which are written in English with the Daedric alphabet) to Roman English, and Runed Draconic to Roman Draconic, but only a few Roman Draconic to Roman English.
