A theory as to why Alduin is the Antagonist in Skyrim

Calm down guys. There is no reason to argue. You can debate each side and belief but why take it to arguing/namecalling? I think you both know there's no convincing the other until we all find out for real how Bethesda wants the lore to be written.

I've used that quote several times myself but it was ignored in light that Kirkbride wrote the sources. I was enjoying the debate, there was no mudslinging and then right out of nowhere, oops flame Sleign because he doesn't agree with your views of the lore...

Well seeing as how you've been on these forums for 6 years now you'd think that you would learn to not flame people. Also, my post was an inference of your post. You clearly insulted me using the lore discussion as a focal point. Thus, you were insulting me because you believe I don't have the lore knowledge of Merari or you just insulted me due to the fact I pointed out that many of the Imperial Libraries' documents are not canonical.

Insult? Hardly. Lore as a focal point? In this case, it's only peripherally related. The term I have used was merely something of a one-word synopsis of my anolysis of your, ah, style of arguing.

Now, when I compared you to Crimson Paladin... well, suppose I should fill you in on who that character is. He's a forum member who frequents the lore forum often and presents his thoughts on lore-related subjects that is often dissenting to the more popularly-accepted one. Thing is, he doesn't support it by saying "lol ur lore is wrong" - he challenges the popular interpretations and inductively-reached conclusions, which is a far more "civil" and all-around better approach to it. If you want to argue a dissenting opinion, I'd highly suggest you take a page or two from him.

Hey, I'd like to read about some theories as to why Alduin is the antagonist, not see this thread become locked due to people getting uppity and snippy with each other.

If you don't want to bother or care about obscure texts, that's your deal. Argue with what we have in-game/book instead of blowing a blood vessel and complaining they're worthless. To those who do want to use obscure texts, don't get your panties in a bunch if someone says they're not worth it.

Now, lets calm down, or you head will serve as an offering to Khorne.

I stopped reading this thread about a page or so back, but from what I can tell, some of you guys could make a suprising amount of money if you just studied real history instead of ES Lore. The especially sad part is that you will NEVER find any tangible answers when it comes to ES Lore, as not even the developers have thought of everything, and never will. Its all philosophy and conjecture, not deeply-rooted facts.

It's not worth cleaning this mess up. If, within a couple of exchanges, you can't come to a meeting of minds, take it out of the topic and into PM's. If you don't want to go that route, drop it.
