Remove Main Quest?

Hello folks, I did a few searches for 'remove main quest' or 'deactivate main quest' on this forum but it yielded no results.

Could someone possibly tell me if there is a mod that entirely eliminates the main quest both in vanilla Morrowind and its expansions? I'm a long-time Morrowind fan who's just too bored with being the Nerevarine 'cause I finished the main quest and the addons for quite a few times during 2003-2005. I want to play a freely roaming 'average person' who has nothing to do with prophecies, fate, great deeds, etc.

http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=3061 makes Morrowind into game where the prophecy has already been fulfilled by the Nerevarine at the start of the game, who in this reality is Jiub.

However, it doesn't touch Tribunal. You could find a mod which disables DB attacks and just ignore the existence the Tribunal questline entirely though.

Oh Thank you! I'm only worried about this comment at PES:

A great mod for people like me who don't want to be the Nerevarine. There are a few things that severely tick me off, however. First of all, several CHARGEN Jiubs are placed in several locations, so every time I enter those cells he asks for my name. Also, all of them are wearing common clothing. You'd think the nerevar wouldn't dress like a beggar, hm?

Other than that, I almost never play without it.


I'm not great at modding, though maybe I should edit the .esp so it only removes the main quest, and doesn't actually add anything into the world. I hope there's some utility that can tell between esp strings that remove things and strings that change or add things?

Er, not quite. I think it would be much harder to overhaul the mod than to put up with an extra Jiub or two.

I used this once or twice, and never had the problem that the PES poster mentioned, although I'm sure it could happen. I'd recommend it if you want to role-play being a normal person, because it gives an alternative ending to the MQ story line. There are other mods that make you Nerevarine without having to do the whole thing, but obviously that's not the same thing.

If you want to find other options, just search on Nerevarine on the mod sites.
