What Happen to the rest of the World?

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 12:32 am

Hi everyone,

Firstly I really like Fallout 3.
Secondly, although it is a great game, i have a "beef" with it, or mainly its history.

What happen to Africa or South America or today's 3rd world country?
I guess I wish the map was larger, like global so we could experience what happen to the whole world and not just the northeast part of DC (at least i think it is the Northeast part)
it is alot to ask tho

so does anyone know what happen to other countries (not talking about Russia, CHina and Europe)

I'll bet the rest of the world was too busy getting screwed by Valve to even notice the nukes.

Fallout's timeline split from ours around 1950s, so we don't know if there was a Zimbabwe. It's likely that it was still the British colony of Rhodesia, and nuking colonies of major powers makes more sense than nuking third world countries.

FO1 intro:

In 2077, the storm of world war had come
again. In two brief hours, most of the planet was reduced to cinders. And from the ashes of nuclear devastation, a new civilization would struggle to arise.

FO2 intro:

The earth was nearly wiped clean of life. A great cleansing, an atomic spark struck by human hands, quickly raged out of control. Spears of nuclear fire rained from the skies. Continents were swallowed in flames and fell beneath the boiling oceans. Humanity was almost extinguished, their spirits becoming part of the background radiation that blanketed the earth.

Whilst I dont think third world countries (which ones did exist) would be targets per se (unless they were home to military installations of the major powers), without foriegn aid backing them up issues that exist like hunger and disease would become more prevelant, and result in the breakdown of society.

So even if it wasnt nuked, no nation could be spared the results.

They went to the park and had a BBQ and it was delicious.

Unfortunately the barbeque was fusion powered, and they were the meat.

But... Is those intros accurate lore? They are there just make the feeling of hopeless world, but it doesn't say anything specific about any country. The discussion about worlds condition cant always be passed with phrase:

"Intro says everything got nuked and thats the truth."
