Enclave Uniforms

So why is it that the Enclave Officer's, and Colonel Autumn look like they are wearing clothes that are more suited to what looks like poorly written science fiction? Wouldn't they instead be wearing something similar to:

(Some kind of similar field uniform)

I don't quite understand why they don't wear some form of power armour myself.
Seems odd to me that you'd have your field officers so vulnerable in an apocalyptic wasteland.

Yes, in FO2 all Enclave officers wore either Advanced Power Armor or Combat Armor.

this enclave outposts are pretty stupid if you ask me, there should be less, but the ones who are there should be camps with atleast 20/30 soldiers and one officier and 2/3 sergeants. And the officier If on duty also should have a powerarmour.

Personally, I would like to see someone either set up a mod, or do a mod which would bring the Enclave uniforms more in line with the "World of the Future". Now maybe I'm just alone in this line of though, but the current uniforms do honestly look like reject props from some low grade science fiction show. So perhaps as a request to any skilled mod maker out there....Make us some US Army uniforms that look like they were worn by the US Army!

I'd say the Enclave officer uniforms fit in with the retrofuturistic theme of Fallout pretty well, sure, they might look a little silly, but a lot of things from '50s science-fiction did, but all that being said though, while the officer uniform would have worked well for defensible locations like Raven Rock, in Enclave field outposts, I'd expect the officers to wear something with a little more protection, they are after all putting themselves in harm's way by going out into the wastes like that, stronger defenses would have made sense too, but Bethesda probably either decided that having more soldiers at the outposts would take up too much processing power, or that over a dozen power armored Enclave soldiers would simply be too much for at most three people and a dog to handle.

Indeed.

I hear in the Korean war you wouldnt even salute your supeior, just in case any snipers were looking... Much less have him dress in a fasion that says "I'm important, shoot me".

Saluting an officer in the field, is the best way for him to get a bullet in the head. Any and all times, when your outside the wire, saluting is off limits....the same is true for FOB's( Forward Operating Bases).

In the context of NATO:

Army: When on field exercise, no saluting zones are put into effect.

Navy: With reference to the "Senior Service", there are sections of Naval Bases which are designated as non-saluting zones. This occurs in parts of naval dockyards, where safety must take precedence over drill and ceremony.

[censored] you are lame...
Why don't all authoriced people IRL, like policemen and ... the president wear a 200 pounds metal armour?
Let's take Colonel Autumn and compare him with James Bond. Now, would you like to see James Bond or other detectives wander around in powerarmours?
Think about that and know now how silly your ideas are

And power armors show authority, fear, maybe some respect...and keep you alive when you go in hostile territory. Unlike certain leather jackets.

Think about how James Bond is a spy, and not an army officer, and neither a detective and know how dumb your comparisons are.

To Bonogizm....

What exactly are you ranting on about. Think critically here for a minute:

1) When you see a police officer on patrol....are they simply wandering around wearing a forage cap, a blue uniform and carrying a truncheon...(Unless you clearly remember Prohibition, and lived it for that matter....then your answer will be NO). With that having been said, most individuals tasked with Policing or Provost duties(in the military context), wear some form of ballistic vesting. On the other hand, who would be stupid, or foolish enough to walk around wearing a trench coat in an active combat zone. I mean come on....did they absorb too much of "Zulu", and thought that if I stand there like Michael Cain, my Webley at the ready...that I can repel any and all attackers!

Secondly your comparison of Colonel Autumn to James Bond, is about the same as comparing Richard Sharpe to Special Agent Gibbs(NCIS)...Think about it, does your comparison make ANY sense at all....

2) With that in mind....think about your statement of the President wearing Powered Armor...is there "ANY" circumstance in the Fallout series where the President has gone in the field....NO. Though if he had, common sense would tell you, that he'd definitely go out there, wearing something more then just a 3-piece suit.

Of course James Bond isnt an Army man... James Bond's Coverstory actually makes him a Navy man. Lt Commander if I remember correctly
