Did Hiroshima happen ?

I am wondering did Hiroshima and Nagasaki happen in the Fall Out universe, it wouldn't suprise me that Hiroshima and Nagasaki never did happen (one way or another), the terrible side-effects of a-bombs where never being seen 'till the last decades before the great war ..... The second world war did take a couple of more months than in our universe, the Japanse eventually did get exhausted, (pretty much motto never surrender, never give up) and by then the Chinese liberated themself from Japanse opression not even that maybe they even did invade Japan for a while or longer.

I know it might sound stupid but I thougth of this .... The world seperated in the fifties, but why not the last years of the fourties ....

Yes, the divergence happened after WW2.

From a FO3 note:

Military Contract 38917: Codename "Liberty Prime"

Project Goal: No less than the creation of the most powerful combat robot the battlefield has ever seen, with the express goal of liberating occupied Anchorage, Alaska from its Chinese aggressors.

Summary: The United States Army has succeeded in contracting both RobCo and General Atomics International to work on their first joint project.

The robot they create, Liberty Prime, will be the very embodiment of American military might -- a walking, talking, nuke-tossing hero who will remind the world what it means to be a super power.

I am fully confident that the presence of Liberty Prime at the Anchorage Front line will be to the Chinese what the Hiroshima bomb was to the Japanese in 1945.
