Masser & Secunda?

Masser & Secunda

Okay, I was wondering if we would see anything new with Nirn's two satalites. They never really had any special effects.
What I would like to see.
*Clouds moving.
*Unique distinction bewteen the two( Even though they already have an obvious color differance).
*Eclipse
*Umbra
*Maybe an obvious natural disaster, thats visible from Nirn?
*Maybe lights on the moon portraying a slightly more advanced( Or less) civilization on one of the moons. Would be a huge shocker.
(Sorry, I should understand that some of these are more of a fallout thing...)

They sky always plays a huge part in immersion imo, I would like to see some tweaks, and theres already a huge improvement in the skies. What about the moons?

I don't get most of the stuff you are trying to say, but:

-Clouds have been revamped and Pete Hines said they are using an awesome system for it. But moon clouds? I don't know.
-Eclipses will probably not happen, and they are rare, I would have to wait years in game so they can happen.
-Disasters... I don't know. It wouldn't make any difference.
-Civilization on the moon? What the hell?
-Better textures, I am expecting this to be adressed in Skyrim.
-Umbra? I don't know...

Oh wait... you are talking about Nirn moons... Ooooh.

:lmao:

...that being said... I am the LUNAR vegan, aren't I? I basically worship the moon here in real life, so definitely I want the moons in Skyrim to look beautiful..

-Disasters are hard to code and make it happen, the only way it would work on a big open ended game is to make it very dynamic and physics-based. But that would kill our gaming systems. That's why disasters are often only portrayed in RTS's or Linear Story-based Games.
-Civilization on the moon? What the hell?
-Better textures, I am expecting this to be adressed in Skyrim.
-By umbra you mean penumbra? This is just a light effect, and with dynamic shadows it will probably happen.

;) for civilizations on the moons, it would just be cool to see like maybe like lights of a city or something, but then again ,this si not fallout :P.
I already know about the weather system. Was wondering if the moons would make it more dynamic.(The sky)
Yep, nirns moons, surely not the earths :P

It would be awesome if they shine with a different light each.

So Masser would have a big but not very intense red light and Secunda having a smaller but more intense white/light blue light. I have no idea how that would look but it could cause some pretty awesome light and shadows at night. Basically having two different colored suns at night, with the new dynamic shadows and all. (it still should be dark at night off course, more than in Morrowind, Oblivion and Fallout, though probably less dark than real nights)

Yup, I get it now. I doubt they will create awesome effects just for 2 simple moons. I usually just ignore them, sure it's beautiful but, I don't see reason to make all these crazy stuff.

I'm hoping Skyrim's skies are vivid and colorful, like the nebular ones in Morrowind. At the same time however, I'm hoping that we have really immersive, dark nights now and then.

Just imagine running around, alone in the woods with only the dim glow of your lantern illuminating the path. The mountains, the trees, everything in the distance is pitch black and you only have the angry glow of the moons watching over you.

I would like to see really bright moonlight reflect of the white snow on a crisp clear night.

It's really good you brought this up. Astronomical phenomenons would be great and add agreat amount of realism to an already realistic game!

Masser and Secunda are barren. They are the remnants of Lorkhan's body after the other Aedra got pissed with him and murdered him viciously. There will be no civilization on that planet. Besides I thought Oblivion had a gorgeous night sky and day sky. Since Skyrim has an even better sky then it stands that their night sky would be even better also.

I wonder if clouds being revamped mean we got a new type of skybox.

Or if it just mean that they can be "low" level now (around mountains top).

Northern Lights. Mundus orbits a star and supports effectively terrestrial life so it must have a magnetic field (you know where North is in the game right ) and would have charged particles trapped above the poles and........wow...pretty.

Tidal cycles would be nice for once. No more of the placid pond water that Skyrim's predecessors suffered.

I like the idea of them having different coloured light and the idea of northern lights, but I don't like the suggestions of the thread opener.

And I also hope they'll sometimes also be visible in daylight, like they were in Morrowind. In Oblivion you could only see them at night (maybe Secunda sometimes also in the early dawn, but never in the middle of the day).

As long as I don't have trumpets blaring out of my ass while I'm trying to sneak around this forest, all because I farted in the general direction of a rat a couple miles back. Really kills the mood.

Definitely should have more visual stimulation in the skies in general. Being a night owl in general, I would love for there to be stars winking up at me, distant nebulae floating enigmatically, and an enchanting aurora borealis dancing through the mountain peaks.
