hairpack and sarem's hair mod compatablitity

Post » Mon Mar 14, 2011 8:15 pm

right now i am trying to get both mods and the hair_add_npc thing to work, but for some reason i just can't get them to work. The add_hair_npc thing isn't adding hair pack things to anything. It says that sarems hair has a built in patch, and the hair mod has one, which one should I use?

Are you trying to use Lings Pretty Things because I don't see HairPack.esm listed up there and as far as I know, Lings and HairPack can't be run at the same time?

Edit: From Lings Coiffure page:
This mod is NOT compatible with any existing cosmetic mod, including hairpack, hairday, or project beauty ESMs. These must be disable for the cosmetics to work. Remember, if you load a mod requiring hairpack, FO3 will load the master even if disabled via FOMM.
# Lings is EditorID compatible with hairpack and many hairpack extensions. It works flawlessly as a drop in replacement.
# If your mod requires hairpack as a master, you can use F03edit to redirect the mod to Lings.ESM

already done but the wierd face thing is still there

edit: it looks like the animation is the smoking animation, but im not entirely sure. it makes all unique npc's (such as nova, trinnie etc) look exactly the same and their face stuck in a puckered up expression

I had this strange problem every once in awhile with a few NPCs. I couldn't really Identify the mod that was causing it, so I removed everyone from the smoker's faction (in FWE), and the problem went away.

Try reinstalling Hair Pack, then Sarem Hair plus the fixes that come with it. You can either do it manually or with FOMM, however FOMM is a much easier method.

Try reading through the comments on Spartan's Pretty Girls. I found this on the second page:

Got it to work. Downloaded 2.1 and deleted the Race, Eyes, Script(!) and Hair entries. Set it to use HairPack.esm as main and changed the references to point to the one in the esm.

using fo3edit, how would alter the references of spartan's pretty girls to point at ones in Lings?

Haven't used Spartan's, but I'll bet Lings Pretty Things are prettier. :)

If Spartan has its own hair resources, than it will have race entries and will likely conflict with Lings. You can remove the race entries from Spartan using FO3edit, but all the hairs/eyes etc will show errors. You need to re-direct these entries for each NPC towards the equivalent Ling resource.

Best approach would be to load into FO3edit an unaltered Sparta along with Lings. For each Spartan NPC, use FO3edits dropdown to change the hair/eyes/etc to ones from Lings matching the names as best as possible. After you complete this, completely remove the race section from SPG.

Good luck.

that didn't work, i copied and pasted the stuff from lings into spartan's. strangely spartan's uses only default eyes so i didn't need to do any of that. also all male hairs added by lings are broken
