My second Fallout painting

Post » Mon Mar 14, 2011 2:23 pm

Hello again Fallout fans!

Thought I would share my second Fallout painting with everyone. I hope you like it. I imagine it hanging on the wall of Super Duper Mart in 3, or somewhere similar. Ive posted my first painting here somewhere, but I'll post it again below as well.

Nice! Though I think you could have blended the slogan a bit better, other than that, Great job.

I like the paintings, but what bugs me about painting 2 is that the paint is faded but Vault Boy is perfectly clean and fresh. But the painting in general is awesome, by intention or no, the blurred/muddled paint makes it feel like a 200 year old poster thats color and ink has been running over the centuries :D

Thanks! Yeah thats pretty much the feel I was going for with the Vault-Tec painting, so thats great! But yeah, everybody seems to be flagging up the clean looking Vault Boy. Im just a bit nervous about it ruining it. Ive got to try and mix the right colours again and the cheap oil paint ive got may dry differently and it might look a bit odd. I should of done it before I finished it : ( I shall try though, as It bugs me too!

Sorry for passing this by, I have a filter in my head and unless it is shown in the Artwork topic( speaking of which maybe who should open up a new one with your third painting, the last one is nearing it's post limit.) I usually go right by. But this garnered enough comments to catch my attention, and I'm glad it did. Those paintings look very authentic and I'm impressed with your talent. Honestly I can't wait to see your third one, breath taking I'm sure.

-I actually like the "perfect" vault boy in the "worn vault gritty" colors. Its kind of a sign of the incorruptablity and continuity of the iconic little guy. A tribute to the vault dwellers that ventured forth and left the last dirty remains of the old world behind. Humanity being reborn from the rust and decay of the old world vaults.

I like the credo you chose. "Be smart. Be safe". Its a tribute to humankinds best sides. Our ability to create safe shelter from any wilderness, despite any hardship, by employing ingenuity, intellect wisdom and sound judgement.

Well done. Well done indeed.

Really impressive, very pop art inspired.

Almost Fallout by way of Andy Warhol.

Thank you very much! Farbautisonn, your interpretation of my vault boy painting is great. I haven't viewed it very deeply until now. As an artist its great to know that I made you stop and anolyze it because it means ive produced a piece of Art rather that just a silly little painting. Thanks as well vaultlife! Ive been quite inspired by pop art in the past so I guess it must have influenced my work.

Forgot to say, anybody got any suggestions for themes for my next painting? Ive kinda lost momentum due to my new job, and cant decide on a theme. I would like to stick with the advert feel. I was thinking maybe rad away, or med x or something similar...

Adverts for Pork'n'Beans? Fancy Lads snacks?

Vault Junk bonds adverts?

Propaganda posters ? Think Stürmer/Signal(nazi), and http://http://propaganda.czweb.org/ (soviet) and http://www.google.com/images?um=1&hl=da&rls=com.microsoft:da&q=north+korean+propaganda+magazine&ie=UTF-8&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&biw=1516&bih=797
