Bots and Classes

Post » Tue Mar 15, 2011 5:08 am

Just wondering if the bots will balance the classes out or change to do what is needed. I know in tf2 when you play single-player the bots randomly pick a class and will stay that class for most of the game no matter what but in this game that wont work. you might need more medics and all the bots might be different classes and you dont want to play medic.

So what im asking is do bots change class depending on what is going on in the game?

This is actually a really good question that I can't answer. The AI is supposed to be really human-like, but I don't know if it is aware as what's going on and what they need at a particular time as a human would.

If they don't it means they svck. I can understand being a class that the person likes a lot, but if the team needs another class and that person won't change means that person svcks at the game and probably svcks at gaming in general. That's just my opinion though.

Don't know, good question. I'm pretty sure that they'll switch classes according to the need of those classes though.

Yes, they do change class if needed. They are very much aware of what is happening in the game.

If everyone changes to the required class, it doesn't help the team too much, either.

But if nobody does, it is indeed stupid.

I'm guessing the AIs will be able to make a good balance based on what the team needs and making sure there's not an over/under abundance of one class.

I'm fairly sure I read somewhere that they will actively swap to the best class suited for the most important current job. I don't think we have anything to worry about there.

I'm sure they do, lol I remeber back when star wars battlefront 2 came out, Even though theres way more people I'm sure back when that game was out that bots changed classes.

You know I think the most likely thing is that before the match it'll balance them so there's an equal amount of each.

Though if you change class it would not be balanced anymore? But yeah i think what your trying to say is that it will keep the classes even.

I think that the bots will change to what is needed and what your team doesnt have. Maybe a few bots will remain as medic for the entire game though.

" The AI do what you do; they use the same mission system, the same tools, gadgets, weapons, body-types as you level up they level up and they understand the tactics that come from unlocking flash bangs or Molotov cocktails or deploying defence turrets or using a bigger body type to get access to mini-guns and so on."
