Changing the battle music in a specific cell? Possible?

Post » Tue Mar 15, 2011 2:03 am

I was trying to edit some sound for a specific boss fight in the mod I'm working on, and even though I have the cell's music type set to play my sound (which it plays fine when not in battle) it still plays the game's default battle music. So, I was wondering if there was any way at all to play custom battle music or if it's just limited to exploration. Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I am fairly new to editing Fallout 3.

There is no way to get music outside of the default folders to play that wont overlap the default music in game in a specific cell. Its been asked and pondered by many.

I've seen some script commands which seem to call different music, if that helps...

Well, I got custom BGM to play for exploration in my own interior cell without overlapping the default BGM, so I figured there might be a way to get it to play custom BGM for a single battle, but if you insist it's that impossible then I guess I'll just go with the "playing over the BGM hurf durf" option. At least for now...

I would guess he just placed his music in the BGM folders, called the same thing as the BGM, so it played it instead of the regular music. Am I close? And I agree with Echonite, I don't think this can be done.

1. go to "Music Type" in the Object Window
2. new
3. Name the type, put the music files in the /data/music folder
4. add the files to your Music Type
5. set the cells' music type to your new music type
6. ????
7. PROFIT!!!
