Question about the G.E.C.K.

Post » Mon Mar 14, 2011 1:03 pm

Ok. So I've played Fallout for my PS3, I love this game. Gratz Bethesda. ^_^. ( I was born in Bethesda, they should send me a free copy of Fallout 3 for WIndows PC :P). Ok I'm going to get Fallout 3 for my PC in a few days/weeks. I was wondering if I need Fallout 3 installed on my computer to use the G.E.C.K.? I downloaded it and I tried to run it and it said " This application has falied to start because libvorbisfile.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem". Well I did and it still says that. I also downladed the patch, and tried to run it and it said " Missing or Invalid Registry/INI entry." I then hit "OK" and it says " Update Aborted", what the heck? Somebody help!

Yes, you need FO3. You need to install it at the same location as Fallout 3.exe

Well I guess asking a few questions wont hurt. ^_^.
1. When you make a mod, do you get to pick where it is located at in Fallout?
2. How do you publish it to the web for other people to use?
3. Can you make armor, perks, weapons etc.?

Quick answers.

1. Start with the http://geck.gamesas.com/index.php/gamesas_Tutorial_GECK_Setup. Complete it, it will help you alot.
2. Just upload the file somewhere like the http://fallout3nexus.com/
3. Yes you can.

1. It depends. Not all mods need a location. Take for example my Ammo Limit mod. That has no definite location. But for things like dungeons, yes.
2. You make a read-me, and you compress the read-me and the .esp together in an 7zip file. Then, add the file to The Nexus.
3. Yes you. You can make almost anything the devs made. Although you need other applications for making unique models for them.
