The Greybeards

Post » Mon Mar 14, 2011 9:41 pm

In the Elder Scrolls lore the Greybeards have been prophets of the great events in Tamrielic history.

They told Talos that he would rule Tamriel, but he needed to go south to do so.

I think that the Greybeards will be involved and you will meet them because obviously events of great importance are unfolding in their home province.

The Greybeards play a vital role in Skyrim and it would be a shame if they were not included in the game. They interupt what the sky says at the Throat of the World; the highest peak in which the sky breathed down onto the land giving birth to man.

You would have exploded into a pile of ash, unless the Greybeard did it from 10 miles away.

With their apparent presence in the mural, I'm betting they'll show up in capacity.

God dammit, came in here to post this. If they don't have this as a consequence of messing around with them I'll be horrendously disappointed.

That would be extreme! Also, that would make them a heavy part of the story one of the options not neither...

The Greybeards are an integral part of the Religious culture of Skyrim. Not having Greybeards would be like not having the Tribunal in Morrowind. I'm sure they will make an appearance, if they're not directly involved in the Main Quest.

In meeting a Greybeard, I hope it's bit more memorable than meeting a Moth Priest.

No, that would be Esbern, an ex blade who accompanies you in the main quest.

Also, @OP, it's already been confirmed that the Greybeard's will have heavy involvement in the main quest.

I'm thinking heavy-to-moderate impact in the game.

I was thinking that when I saw this topic. So yes, I'd say it's safe to assume they'll be involved, and if you're going to have Greybeards in the game, you might as well make them pretty important. Though it's possible that they'll be like Vivec in Tribunal, in that even though the time you actually spend in their presence is not that long, it marks a major point in the story.

I'll say one thing about them, though, I'll be pretty dissappointed if the Greybeards don't actually have beards.
