Everywhere I go Dogmeat and his puppies always die too. Screw him. And his puppies.

Puppies? I've only had Dogmeat for a little while, but I haven't seen or heard of anything about puppies. So far Dogmeat has been virtually indestructible for me. I can literally sit back and let him kill everything.

It's a perk you get with the Broken Steel DLC. Also the near indestructible Dogmeat is a confirmed bug.
"Dogmeat's level scaling in Broken Steel is set up improperly, causing him to gain 5 times the health and damage dealt than what was intended."

Not sure if they fixed it or not.

He becomes a pure tank if you have the Broken Steel add-on. Him and Fawkes.

I think that perk is stupid. Do you only get 1 puppy per time you pick that perk?
I just tell Dogmeat to wait at my Megaton house and he just stands by my bobbleheads, I really do not want to waste a perk on a companion that will get killed :cryvaultboy:

Also, if your Dogmeat dies, you can always have him live on, in your home, office, vault, or stomach! Just loot his body, and let Dogmeat live on in your life!*

I have Broken Steel installed, and yet, he always dies right away. On one of my earlier characters... Dogmeat and I were attacked by some raiders. He, of course, died right away. I managed to survive, but just barely (cue loud, beating heart). I needed some health, so I.... uh.... ate Dogmeat. :foodndrink: So I guess he helped me out that one time.
