Scourge of the Lich Father question.

Post » Tue Mar 15, 2011 12:06 am

Yesterday i started playing Scourge of the Lich father. And i am now on a mission for the Brotherhood of Shadows to find and retrieve 3 crystals. And immediately the first room i enter i find a Ogrim who wants a stew. I have looked all over the monastery but i have no clue about where to find this stew?

Do i have to search in Goldington somewhere?

If I remember correctly, search around in the Brotherhood's base, there should be a stew recipe somewhere. If all fails, have a look at http://www.youtube.com/user/ReymasofAshborne, he did those quests around chapter 6-7 I think.

If you go to the kitchens, there will not only be a recipe for the stew, but all the ingredients you need.

Most of the Brotherhood quests are formulaic. Go to test, learn rules, return to base, find solution, return to test, implement.

Yeah i noticed that. Turned out that i hat most of the ingredients for the so-called "stew". The only thing i actually still needed was the juicy meat. No problem with sneak and the Amulet of Shadows. :D

Ok next question. I am doing the Theft quest (The Honey pot), i have spread the rumor around town and my journal shows that i should go see Katashi. But she has no dialogue option for this quest? I tried putting the item in the unlocked chest from where you get the Shadow armor, and i then waited 24 hours but nothing happens?

I don't remember this one too well, but what should happen is that she has you check in the item, then sleep in the bed downstairs. You'll be awoken in the night, and when you go up have a well-equipped baddy to fight. There should be dialogue indicating this though. Have you tried all her conversation options?

Also, have you spread the rumor to enough people yet?

For the rumors you must speak with every vendors in Goldington, including the publican and maybe some customers, the khaajit banker (Katashi i think) has no dialogue with the exception of one greeting initiated by an entry in the journal stating you have spread enough rumors about the glass shipment.
By the way the chest for this quest is the one in the right corner as opposed to the door and the nearest to Katashi, she will unlock itwhen you speak with her or provide you with the key.
By the way I think the honey pot is another quest ( Ring of Pain) this one is the true Bal Molagmer

Yeah i tried all of her conversation options, she only has 4. The last one is from Antares Big Mod.

As for the rumor..well the TG Operative told me that 3 or 4 where enough, and after the third person i got the journal entry that mentioned i should go talk to Katashi?

The TG Operative i spoke with told me that all it takes is 3 or 4 people, and as i mentioned above i got the journal entry after the third person. I spoke with all the people i found on the street,(Including the Imperial guard and the Sheriff) i spoke with all shopkeepers and everyone inside the Dragon Perch. If i need to find a fourth person then...where and why did the journal update then? :blink:

First...what UI replacer is that? Looks nice.

Second...huh. The quest was pretty straightforward when I did it. You may be having a dialogue conflict.

open the console, click on Katashi, type in the console :
add topic "glass"
don't forget to take the glass cuirass from the chest
then talk to her topic glass

The bug himself is probably due to the fact somebody already talked to you under the topic "glass" and this conflict with her nolore script.

The strange thing is that no matter how often i tried that the topic did not get aded to Katashi. So i started up MWEdit and started searching for theft and Glass . In the end i was able to finish the theft quest by opning the console and typing the following lines;

Player->RemoveItem "glass_cuirass" 1

Player->AddItem "dan_key_katashi" 1

journal "Dan_Go_05" 60

That way i could enter the cellar and sleep there as intended and wait for the thief. :)

Very strange. I wonder if there are any mods in your load order that have in some way removed or co-opted the "Glass" topic.

The only thing I see offhand that I know would have a major effect on dialogue is Antares Mod, but as I don't use that one myself I really can't say one way or the other. I'd suggest moving your quest mods further down the load order to reduce conflicts. However, my personal preference is not to rework the load order on an existing game, since that in itself can sometimes cause conflicts. Probably just unnecessary caution on my part, but I still don't recommend it without making a backup. Not that any of that is likely to be news to you. :hehe:

Indeed it is not new to me. :)

Last night i actually did thought about rearranging my mods, but i do remember another character where that caused quit a few problems afterwards indeed. Although i have to admit that it was a character from a long time ago, and MCP is extremely handy. Still...unless there is no absolute reason to rearrange then i will keep it as it is at the moment.
