Indecisiveness svcks. Help.

Post » Tue Mar 15, 2011 3:03 am

I'm incredibly indecisive when creating a character and that's the only character's downfall. Due to all the knowledge I know about what you can do in the game, I end up getting overwhelmed and draw a blank due to the vast amount of options. What do I do?

EDIT: Yeah, I'm going back and forth between pure warrior, and some sort of assassin. Ideas?

Ask youself what style you wish to play- archer, magician, warrior, or a hybrid of all three.
The Dark elf is a great race for a mix role, Bosmer is great for an archer, Breton-High Elf for mage and I like Redguard for warrior.

Role play is an awesome way to play Oblivion. Try to come up with a backstory and a goal for the character. Let the character choose their path to that goal.

Some people even let a random roll of the dice determine their character build. It can be fun to not have the hands on the reins all the time.

... What do I do?

Well maybe be decisive? :)

If you tell us what character you'd like (eg mage, warrior, stealthy) and other things you'd like to do maybe we can recommend a build.

Or pick any race that you like the looks of. If you can't decide that them maybe either Dunmer or Imperial because both are well balanced. If you can't decide on birthsign then maybe Mage since it's a nice birthsign with no downside. Then maybe go through the tutorial dungeon and then pick whatever class Baurus thinks your are.

I've kinda decided on a pure warrior. Any suggestions? Race, birth sign, skills, and such? Thanks so much. :obliviongate:

I had a female Redguard Barbarian once. She was by far the most powerful fighter I've ever created.

Blade
Block
Destruction
Acrobatics
Marksman
Restoration
Mysticism

Born under the Atronach. Which might svck for you, try the Lady, or the Thief. She wielded Shadowrend and a Perfect Madness Bow.

I just wanted to agree that the above build looks excellent for a warrior. I'd recommend one small change in my opinion - Destruction magic may not be a warrior type thing. Might want to consider the above but with Armorer instead of Destruction. Male or Female Redguard is a personally choice, either would work well. Also a Nord or Orc will work well, but the Redgaurd is a great warrior.

Finally Atronach is a strong sign, I really love it. But lots of people don't like the lack of magicka regenaration. If you then that will bother you then the choices about are great alternates, as is the Warrior Birthsign.

Ok, here's a build straight out of left field that I decided on. A Breton Battlemage?

Heavy Armor
Blunt
Block
Destruction
Restoration (or Conjuration?)
Alteration (or Mysticism?)
Illusion

How's that sound? :shocking:
