Any recommended mods for a newcomer?

Post » Mon Mar 14, 2011 2:48 pm

I'll get Oblivion to PC after a week (played it ALOT on PS3, so I'm not "complete" newcomer :P) and I know what you can do with mods. As I'm a newcomer to PC, is there any little mods for me to test? Some little, trustable mod that won't crash my PC down (like a new sword mod etc.), on the TESNexus please.

Thanks already.

well, http://devnull.sweetdanger.net/OOO/OOO_Guide.html is an excellent mod that changes many nuances from Vanilla (un-modded) and adds many new additions to your Oblivion experience. It's my favorite mod. Also, pretty much a requirement for every Oblivion player, is getting the http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=5296 to fix a couple thousand bugs left by Bethesda even after their latest patch. Also a good idea to check out all the grey topics made for newer modders at the top of the mods forum board.

I'd say go with Unique Landscapes first. It isn't a small mod, but it's probably not going to break your game and it makes walking around outside so much nicer.

Check the first category http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1072579-the-any-mods-list-of-topics/page__p__15593408__fromsearch__1&#entry15593408

Also it might help if you're more specific. Is there anything you wanted, or didn't like in the ps3 version which you now want mods to fix/add? Also you may want to answer the questions in post number 4 of the first topic I linked to.
