Description:
What is the deal of the consumer? Or a better question, what is the consumer? Well, in short, the consumer is a dark wizard, he used his body and soul as a catalyst in the creation of several powerful suits of armor. These suits of armor provide unrivaled strength to the wearer, but at a cost - The wearer's soul is slowly eaten away by the armor, and the wearer must use human lives as payment to prevent the armor from 'eating' them.
Feed the armor well and be rewarded with more and more strength. Do not feed the armor, and it rejects you, eating away at your body and soul, and eventually killing you. However, letting the armor grow more powerful can be a worse fate then death. For once you start down it's path, you can not turn back, for this is what the consumer wills.
Now, to the second question. What, or who is the consumer? He is a long dead wizard, who created dark armor that controls it's wearer. I just told you that, of coarse, but I'm sure what you are wanting to know right now is 'why'?
You see, the consumer wasted his entire life in pursuit immortality. A foolish pursuit to which many have fallen. However, in a small way, he succeeded. Making several identical suits of armor that feed of the souls of humans. Once one of the suits reaches it's highest possible strength, the small piece of the consumers soul used to create your armor is bound to you. You gain part of his strengths, gaining the ability to 'consume' souls, and even offer armor to others, to join in servitude.
..... Never forget, The Consumer does everything for the prolonging of his own existence, he cares nothing of you, and takes far more then he gives. What he takes is never certain.
Features:
The Consumer's Armor:] Armor that grows stronger the more lives you take, and punishes you should you refuse to take lives. Once this armor is equipped, it can not be removed!!!!
Balanced 'Super Strength':] The armor gives you power far beyond any vanilla armor, but is no 'god mod' armor, and WILL be balanced. It urks me when thing's aren't balanced.
MMM/OOO Compatible leveled list enemies with the armor:] To get the armor into the game I am going to make it so that there is a very low chance of an enemy with the armor equipped appearing should you kill them, you can then take the armor for your own. (These enemies will not appear until level 15) I use MMM and OOO, so I will make these enemies fit within there leveled lists.
(maybe)The ability to give NPCs the same power you have:] If I can figure it out, I will add in the ability to give this armor to other NPCs, they will then follow you around (Toaster Says 'Shair's will be needed for this, as it's the only companion mod I can stand) they will ad you in killing, but will make going into towns hard as they will be scripted to attack any human but you without relenting or hesitation.
What I need to do:
This is mostly a checklist for myself, not a request list, I am going to work on these things on my own, and check them off as I complete them. If you know a good bit about one of the following or think you can help with it, please feel free to do so.
Armor:] 1) This is the one area I have to have outside help, as I can not model or texture. I need to find a free resource armor, or have someone else make some for me. Armor needs to be mostly black, and cover every bit of the body/face. Needs to be twisted and some what ornate. Not sixy, and not cosplay armor. 2) Need to add all parts of the armor together into a single armor;; Need to learn how to use NifScope so I can do this.
Armor Script 1:] 1) Create a Script so that when the PC examines a dead NPC with the armor equipped, armor auto unequips from the dead NPC and auto equips to the PC. 2) Armor is to then become unremovable. 3) Armor needs to check that the PC does not have the armor equipped already.
Armor Script 2:] 1) Create a script to detect when the player kills a select number of NPCs, (Aggressive or not; Doesn't matter) then remove the armor and replace it with slightly stronger version. 2) If the player gets the armor to it's highest strength the player then gains a new spell and a new conversation option with NPCs (That will be based on the NPC; NPC would need to be willing to take lives for there own gain) 3) Armor will detect if the play goes a number of in-game hours without killing an NPC, and will lower the armors strength. If the armor get's weak enough, it will auto-kill the PC.
Benefits and Weaknesses:] 1) I need to work out a balanced number of benefits and weaknesses for the armors various stages (I intend to make 12, 5 'weak', 5 'strong' 1 'base' and 1 'final'. Autokill for reaching the lowest will be scripted into the weakest of the weak armors)
NPC Scripts:] 1) Create a script so that when PC is wearing the 'final' armor, all NPCs willing to talk to the player will have a topic that allows the player to 'give' them there own armor (adds a modified version of the armor to the NPC's inventory) 2) This will then force the NPCs disposition of the player to 100, and make it stay that way. (so that when used with 'Toaster's Companion mod you can then request them join you.) NPC armor needs to be checked as unplayable so the player can not try to take it from the NPC!!!
NPC Armor Scripts:] 1) (Do armor scripts work on NPCs?) 1) Create scripted armor that can not be removed from the equipped NPC, make the NPC attack anything accept the PC on sight, and powers up the NPC a good bit (NPC armor will not have the PC armor effect) 2) I would imagine using this on re-spawning NPCs will have very negative effects!! I highly suggest against this!! Or even creating a way to prevent it!
Drawbacks to the power:] 1) I need to create a drawback to the PC using the higher levels of the armor for to long, something permanent that can not be undone. Perhaps a permanent massive increase to infamy, bounty, damage to speech-craft, and/or weakness to sunlight? Or a new script effect? Possibly scripted 'spirit battles when you sleep, where The Consumers spirit tries to kill PC's soul to take over his body? (In other words, just kill you)
Spirit Battles:] 1) If I decide to to the spirit battles thing, I need to design a script to give the PC a % chance of being 'woken up' in a new, blank cell with fog, where a powerful enemy wearing the same armor as you named 'The Consumer' will try and kill you. If you die in this realm, you die in the waking one. 2) Then create a Script that replaces the player at the bed if he kills the The Consumer (The consumer does not really die, he can come back), with the sleep time amount ran out (if the player chose to sleep 8 hours, 8 hours will have passed) 3) Make sure this plays nicely with mods that require a need for sleep!!! (as I use one)
A way to remove the Armor:] Need to work out a way to remove the Armor. Will work out something later, NEEDS TO BE DONE BEFORE THE RELEASE If I am going to make armor THIS annoying, there has to be a way to remove it.
Add a 'Message' to the PC:] 1) I intend to have a 'letter' added to the player's inventory when the armor is equipped describing what it is, what it does, and how to remove it to the PC. This 'letter' will be weightless and a quest item, and will be removed when the armor is. The letter will state it is an etching on the arm of the armor saying all of this, or something to the same effect.
Stop typing all this crap and actually work on the Mod:] 1) NEED TO GET ON THIS PRONTO!!!! 2) In addition, I need to spell and grammar check all of this.
