[relz] A Place To Stay

Post » Mon Mar 14, 2011 3:24 pm

http://princessstomper.wordpress.com/2010/03/20/a-place-to-stay/

A modular series of player homes for use with each expansion for Fallout 3.
Requires (respectively) The Pitt, Mothership Zeta, Operation Anchorage and Point Lookout. Note: the Broken Steel home does not require the expansion since it uses the existing Citadel location.

From the Fallout 3 Launcher, select Data Files and check the box next to the A Place to Stay ….esp file according to which file(s) you would like to use.

This plugin will not invalidate your old saved games. If you save your game while this plugin is loaded, you may encounter error messages when you reload the saved game without the plugin. But you will be able to continue on with the original game.

*****************************************************************

4. What It Does

A PLACE TO STAY IN ANCHORAGE
(cell: ajwDLC02PlayerBunk)

Adds a cell accessible through a hatch under the Command Tent. The tent-shaped enclosure is a basic home. Since health and ammo are replenished through in-game facilities I did not consider it necessary to add the lab, infirmary, workbench etc.

A PLACE TO STAY IN THE PITT
(cell: ajwThePittHouse)

Adds a new cell called ‘Marketside Loft’ upstairs from Midea’s Quarters in The Pitt marketplace, accessed by a ladder

The cell is a one-room apartment comprising

* well-rested bunk bed
* desk/eating area
* workbench
* infirmary/lab
* pet dog ‘Jake’
* kitchen area with sink, oven and fridge
* screened off toilet
* cabinets and footlocker

A PLACE TO STAY FOR BROKEN STEEL
(cell: CitadelBRing)

Cleans up a previously ruined room in Citadel Room B. This “new” room, accessible through an internal door in the dormitory area, comprises:

* well-rested double bed and floor sleepmarker
* desk/living area
* infirmary/lab/jukebox
* toilet and sink
* cupboards and footlocker

No workbench is included since there’s one near there anyway.

A PLACE TO STAY IN POINT LOOKOUT
(cell: ajwDLC04PlayerShack)

Converts a ruined building near the Homestead Motel into a functional shack, including

* well-rested double bed
* living area
* Workbench
* infirmary/lab/radio
* bathroom
* kitchen
* storage

A PLACE TO STAY ON MOTHERSHIP ZETA
(cell: ajwZetaHomeCell)

Adds a new small teleporter to the bridge, leading to a small cell with two rooms aboard Mothership Zeta.

Living room

* Teleporter to bridge
* “Laboratory Control” – alien control with My First Lab script
* “Infirmary Control” – alien control with My First Infirmary script
* Containers for storage and food
* Table and chairs in alien style
* Spectacular views

Bedroom

* Two statis chambers – A scaled-down Vault-style bed has been inlaid into each. Your companion might look funny sleeping in one, but it was the only reliable way to add the bed-script to the alien furniture
* Toilet – Ummm … you don’t even want to think about how that works
* Workbench in the alien style
* Sink – the only non-alien-style furniture, but it’s metal and hopefully doesn’t look too out of place

*****************************************************************

Hey this sounds really handy, I like that it's a pack, I hate trying to download different house mods from all over. Thanks a bunch! ;)

Hey, that's really weird - not that anyone seems remotely interested in the mod anyway ( :P ) but for some unknown reason it's showing as ratings/comments blocked and I've done nothing of the sort!

Help!

Click on "manage your files" and then you click on the "edit attributes" to bring up the page to change this :)

I'm using 'Place to stay - Pitt' and the Zeta ones that came out before this one. I like these two homes who stay simple and in the mood of the DLC while offering a place to store your things (and in case of Zeta, make the ship usable as a house).

Will there be separate release of the Point Lookout and Broken Steel homes or should I uninstall the previous mod ?

I tried it, but I didn't see anything under Edit Attributes to enable comments/endorsemants. Thanks anyway.

Woohoo! :D

I don't plan to release the files separately (this incorporates those two mods) but I've kept it as separate .esp files so you don't need to uninstall anything - you can let the .esp files overwrite the ones you have plugged in, or just don't install the duplicates (since they're exactly the same).

This looks pretty good. I especially like the ones for The Pitt and Point Lookout. I just might have to try it out. It's always bothered me that I have to resort to sleeping wherever I can and storing my gear in a small box or trash can while in The Pitt, all the while knowing that there are thieves that will take your merchandise while you are away.

Thanks - hope you like the mod.

I got a reply from Buddah - apparently you can't fix it if for any reason the 'disable endorsemants' box has been selected. Oh well. :)

Maybe you should upload as a different, new file, it should work then.

Heh ... I guess I'm not THAT worried - I mean, it's hardly in danger of attracting the sort of users who only download the most endorsed mods anyway. :D

@ jaymo - thanks

Oh, just a note: it's been sorted out to allow endorsemants and comments (thanks, Nexus!). The former would be nice *cough* but if you've got any remarks or queries, feel free to add them either here or there. :)
